Thread: Bomb droids, anyone made a macro yet?

I like the MSEbomb droids, but it's no good peeling one out of the crate, programing it, targeting a group of critters, telling to follow other, then detonating it. By the time I'm done doing all of that, I could've done about as much damage with my flame thrower and launcher pistol. It occurs to me that a macro to do most or all of this could be pretty handy, and might make the droids something more than a novelty. Then it occured to me that surely something so useful has probably been made already. Anyone got one?

If not, I'll see what I can cobble together this weekend.

I was thinking of making one myself. I've had my Master DE friend make me a few crates of these and they're loads of fun. I usually pull one out and have him follow me around when I'm overt. Like you said, it's quite annoying to click your target, tell it to follow it, then click on the droid itself and then type /det. I suppose targeting your droid would be easy if he was grouped with you, but maybe there's a better solution? Have a macro program the droid with a name, then another macro that has it follow the target, selects the droid, and then does a /det after a certain amount of time (or just /det manually). Let me know what you come up with and we can compare notes.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Well, since I'm at work and can't do too much research into it, I'll try to walk through it logically...

First step is having to have the droids you plan on using learn the group command before setting out. Now what I'm planning will only work if there is a / command to target the first person in your group...

Then:

/tellpet <group command>

/pause 2

/target groupmember1 (or whatever command may be)

/det

Not sure of any way to macro calling them, unless of course they fixed being able to put the control icons in your toolbar.

It's not required that the droids be in group when detonating them. I like to keep them as deeds so I can whip them out during combat if necessary.
