Ok , this is purely for future consideration and is just a rambling thought.
How about giving the Smuggler the ability to make data disks.
These could then be used to courier secret plans, information, whatever.... they could have an admin list on them so only the recipient can read them.
any thoughts, ideas, fantasies......
(and please dont go off on one, this is just thinking)

I think this would work well for events and RP situations. For instance, your next clue in a scavenger hunt could be based on finding a datadisk. Another example might be a marriage certificate. Although the market wouldn't be large for something like this, it is an interesting idea.

You might try posting this idea in the Role Playing forum.

I once proposed on the c-forum that maybe smugglers could download the music from the droids that musicians used to record music...
Make a physical item from it, hand it to an architect, who could then build a jukebox for our homes
Datadisks would certainly be fun, in quite a few applications.

Reminds me of making message disks in a SW MUD I use to play... we used them for messages ever once in awhile, used them to RP a contract and such. But mainly we just threw them at each other and had fun lil disk fights
