Smuggler Archive

Thread: I posted this in the BH forum. What do other smugglers think?

I think that would be kind of cool... I would feel a little 'smugglery' with that kind of skill. It's kind of like hacking. Of course, it might make BHs not like us if we charge them for the service, too... but then, oh, well.

Nifty idea. Would give us something to do at least. But I don't think any smuggler wants to play second fiddle and sidekick to anybody for any reason Just my impression. Too independant.

Now again, not a BH, just a smuggler looking for a way to help my own profession. Now I have read posts stating that you would like us to be able to slice the terms to get names. Obviously this won't happen, here is my proposal, and I apologize if this idea has come up before.

After a BH picks his mission and goes and talks to the Infomant, how about having the informan physically give an item to the BH. To decode the item a BH would have to go see a Smuggler. Here is where the possible prevention of assumed griefing would begin. The smuggler can only decode it and not read it. Once the item is traded back to the BH, he must accept the mission, again preventing some griefing not all. The mission must be accepted and cannot be dropped. In order to accept another bounty you must either kill the mark or wait 3 days till the mission is automatically dropped.

This way, you do have the name and still you can't just dump a mission and pick another one because it is a friend or guildmate. You either kill, be killed, or wait 3 days.

Also going to a smuggler would be optional. If you don't have the name you would be able to drop the mission.

I realize some of you won't like the idea about being unable to dump missions but this prevents people from constantly going after the same Jedi over and over.

Interesting thought...but not very "smuggler."

It's bad enough with people coming to us wanting "ub3r" slices and refusing to believe slicing has changed. I can't slice mission terms anyway since Pub 19. Keeps saying I'm too far away when I'm practically humping the terminal.

It's a neat idea...but it'd be better if they kept it within the BH family, maybe Investigation. I hate the thought of anything that drags us into the BH/Jedi hatefest. It's bad enough both parties delight in seeing smugglers getting slammed by abusing our specials.

thats actually not a bad idea at all. sure the BHs would complain at first but at least they would know the name of there target

I agree that it isn't really smugglery but I was just trying to come up with a way to give us something more than people who slice and make 2 - maybe 3 spices.
