Hi everyone. I'm new to the whole smuggler thing and I think I am going to enjoy it. I'm *not* hologrinding it either, this one's for keeps
. I have a couple of questions for ya'll...
Regarding Spices-
What spices can you move quickly? Do you get a lot of your business from a vendor you've placed or from bazaar terminals? Do you sell by the crate or individually?
Regarding Slicing-
Slicing is a bit confusing to me. Luckily, some friends had some clamps and locked containers enough for me to get to slicing 1, where I can now slice into terminals. Every time I run a mission now, I'm slicing terminals to up my revenue. I have a few general questions on slicing- First, are laser knifes affected at all by resource quality? If I choose not to use clamps, would I be more successful if I had nicer knives? What about the quality on clamps? It seems as if no matter what they guarantee a 100% success rate. Why then, does their quality matter? Also, in the next boxes, I will be slicing weapons (at first for xp only, I'm guessing) and armor. What dictates the quality of the slice? I've seen people get 35% slices... that's just crazy! I used to give my stuff over to smugglers and get around 20%. Is there a definate rule to this, as in quality giving these percentages, or is it simply a roll of the dice that determines it?
And the pistol trees-
I'm pretty much set on these, though I think more might come up sooner or later.
Thanks for your responses! I'll be lurking these boards, and posible posting. Let's just hope I don't get caught by any Imperial patrols!

Sorry, I can't answer everything, its been a while since I've done anything with spices, but I'll tackle what I can.
Quality does not affect the slicing tools at all. No matter what you have a 50% success rate with knives, and 100% with clamps. I don't know what it is with nodes, but I know its in between there.
Also, the range of percentages you can increase the weapon/armor is dependant on your skill as a smuggler. Where within that range the percentfalls is completely random, or at least as far as I know nothing has conclusively shown otherwise (this is a controversial subject).
There you go. Hope I helped.

Probably won't make any money off of spices, except maybe Muon Gold, and with that you'll make next to nothing selling factory crates of 25 units for around 4-5k on the bazaars. But, then again, if you make enough of these crates, there is potential to make a pretty penny, if you flood the market and under-cut whatever anyone else is selling on the vendors. You'll probably want to load up the bazaars in Coronet, Bestine, and Theed. So the effort of making hundreds of crates of muon and placing them in large city bazaars is kind of daunting. But, like I said, it has the potential to pay off...at least a little. And you really don't have to worry about experimenting with Muon, so any ole schematic will do for a factory, just have lots of resources...unfortunately, I don't think the Muon markets are what they used to be. More or less, you are hawking your wares on noobish types that can't afford fine vasarian brandy and canape. God, it almost makes you feel like a petty drug pusher just doing it...:-)

Spices are good to carry round on you when doing the DWB, or the corvette. Halfway round, you'll fund people are far more willing to pay high prices for a quick fix than they are wandering around Coronet!

Awesome guys! Thanks for the responses. Now I think I'm going to have to let some new players have some "free" spice.... at least until they're hooked

Spices don't really sell very well anymore due to the chev revamp. But I would say if you were going to try, throw some ful crates up on the Dantooine Mining Outpost bazaar for cheap. If you sell a bunch quickly, throw some more on there for a little more credits and keep doing it to find the sweet spot.
