Thread: On pre-req changes, and on Pub9 removing items from crates for slicing...

many were whining about the removal from crate stuff for slicing, im pretty sure this was just for precision laser knives...in testing this is what I found...
Pre patch 9 If you have a crate of PLKs and you start to slice, you would get 10 cuts and then the number in the crate would go down...so if y ou had 25, 10 cuts later you have 24 sounds dandy right? well now at that point, every single cut would use an item in the crate, slice another item after those 10 cuts, 22 left in crate, slice another item 20 left in crate...see where Im going with this kids? They had to fix it so PLKs could not be used out of crate because they are a multi use item like meds and food and such...it was messing with the code and could not just "pull" from teh crate for one time use. Like Molecular clamps and Blaster power handlers in crafting...
So now Post patch 9...Molecular clamps are still being pulled from crates right? Now better documentation, or better communication to you or Caylin could have saved alot of kilobytes of whining.
Onto Pre-Reqs, yep they changed BHs and I dont know if its good or bad (BHs can now be BH/Pistoleer/Smuggler and last ditch at speed cap how's that grab you?) But Smuggler is a hybrid profession. All the hybrid professions pull from 2 different basic trees, BH pulls from scout and marksman, commando marksman and brawler, Squad leader from scout and marksman etc.... so If they take away unarmed 4 (which I dont like Smuggler/Pistoleer/TK is a wonderful combo) they would have to replace it with something else not from marksman, say scout, or entertainer... Elite professions grow from only one tree and Smuggler is not that. I think the better solution is to give smugglers infighting dirty moves that also boost their unarmed abilities that way smugglers have a choice to follow the pistoleer route, or the brawling(TK) route that best suits their style, or heck even go both routes. But smuggler should enhance both the professions is spawns from.
