So, I was wondering, what do you recommend? Should I get items sliced before or after the CU?

My alt toon is a weapon smith, and my main a smuggler (yes, masters) and I am not slicing jack till CU, in fact my smith is only collecting resources and making grenades, and my smuggler is a shipwright (yes, master) and is only making JTL missiles, launchers, custome kits etc.

Anyone else?

Also, shouldI try to slice my consumable weapons? IE - Rocket Launchers, since they will NOT be consumable come the CU?

I doubt consumable commando type weapons like the Rocket Launcher will transfer. Grenades should be good to go.

I believe they said that after the smuggler update (not the cu) - smugglers will get some control over what type of slice is given.. but the slice won't be as 'strong'

so if you wait till then (way too far away) you be able to get more customized slicing..

but if you just want to know whether or not you should slice your gear now, or wait till after the cu (when the slicing methods will be the same as we have now) - your guess is as good as mine, because we don't know what the CU is actually going to DO when it converts items. All they've said is that the items will remain near their current 'standing' - ie: if you have a good weapon now, it will not become an uber weapon after the CU. If you have an Uber weapon now, it will still be 'uber' after the CU (though the scale of 'uber' will be brought closer in line with the 'average'. ie: if the average power hmmer is 640 dmg right now, and an uber one is 900+ .. after the cu, the average may be 600 dmg, and the uber may be 725.

That's a complete guess on the numbers of course..

but having said that - if the weapons overall are getting reduced in damage - it would be better to slice them now. If they are being increased in damage, it would be more beneficial to wait. Find out what they're actually doing in the conversion of weapons and armor.. and you'll be golden... just don't forget to tell the rest of us
