Thread: How much r u paying for ICB's?

Just saw a post on the Flurry trade forum...1.2 mil bo for them...lol. I can't beleve ppl r paying that for an extra 4% on damage. If you take into consideration it wouldn't even be worth it unless you had an uber weapon to begin with...and if it's allready maxed on damage I wouldn't waste that kinda coin on a high end slice if it wasn't.

As we all know you can't even apply the slice if it'll bring the weapons damage cap higher than say 948 on most pistols. With a 150+ tissue or bone shard thats verry easy to do before even attempting the slice. The weapons I've been making recently with the mentioned enhancement stats come out to within 10 points on damage cap and around .5 on speed cap...so why waste a damage slice there? I doubt I'd even be able to damage slice such a weapon...so why waste 1.2 mil on a ICB? Just makes absolutely no sense to me.

I was just curious what the other servers ppl were being forced into paying for these components. And wanted to bring it to pl's attention that a 1.2 mil investment wouldn't even be worth it unless the wep was uber...at which point the ICB wouldn't even be useable.

If people want to pay for that kind of slice, far be it from me to stop them.

I make my customers bring me the pieces, then they appreciate me more.

Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.

yet, this loot system reallyhelps slicing. We can now buy components(if we are extremely rich), camp high lvl MOBs, or hope the customers provide the kits. Thanks to this system, the old slices(usually ranging from 5-15k) are now are 500k-1,5 mil(usually). Let them be craftable.... or better yet... let crafters make the components which smugglers put togealther.

My alt is not paying a thin credit for one. I made sure to have many a WUK and AUK built and stock piled in single and crates before the pathetic Slicing nerf and have been very fortunate (and very lucky) with my conversions thus far.Even if I did not have any, I would refuse to throw away good credits on a broken slicing system thathas a slicing cap lower than the crafting cap. I do think there will be a change in drops or the entire system sooner or later. As much as I would love to sell the ones I have so far, the needs of my associates come first.

Just a quick question to you smugglers - I got a rifle sliced recently with a level 4 speed slice and was charged 500k for it. I provided the smuggler with the Delictae trigger assembly as well - although not the toolkit. Are the finely crafted toolkit's really that rare as to warrant such a high price? I had a few of those in my inventory as well if I had known I would have handed that over to avoid the cash outlay...

Actually, its easier to find the trigger assemblies. All you have to do to get those is go pound on Krayt for a half hour. The finely crafted toolkit is somewhat more elusive.

I'm not going to say so and so charges x too much or y too little, I'm not gona meddle in someone else's business practices.

Personally, I don't think I would have charged you 500k if you brought some of the parts, particularly the "expensive" one. Then again, its a smugglers market these days. You are always welcome to take your business elsewhere at any time...Providing you can find a place to take it (which is the real trick now isn't it?).

Hehe yeh I'm not complaining about paying that much - I was being impatient and couldn't wait for the guild slicer to get online, so I accepted the cost as par for the course. I was just surprised as it was the first sliceI had done since the slicing "upgrade".

I'm going to save those finely crafted toolkits I have fo future slices I think, since most of my characters are asset rich but cash poor. Also, while looking at a few of these posts here and the trade forums, I'mthinking that 500kisn't unreasonable price to ask for a level 4 slice. Guess I just need to get some more moolah...

Perhaps the idea is that slicing a weapon will bring a weapon crafted with the normal advanced components up to the level of a weapon crafted with looted components, but will be of no use to a weapon made with looted components? That is,

master crafted + slice = maximum weapon

or

crafted with looted components = maximum weapon,

with some middle ground for the mid-levelslices and the mid-level looted components.

Whatever the theory behind the system is, I don't like it.
