There is really no point to this, but I wanted to share it.I am a honest person by nature, and being niave i think everyone else is also, so I don't make a customer pay for a slice till it has been done.

So I am slicing away in coronet, having decent success. So I slice a couple weapons for a guy and I get a 12%. Sure i would be dissapointed if a smuggler got a 12% on my weapon, but I understand. This guy don't say anything except he will bank tip me. So fine I trade him back his weapon, and nothing. I ask for the tip and he says I didn't do a good enough job to get paid. I told him I do the same job for everyone, it was just bad luck. So after a few choice words are exchanged I say forget it.

I guess this is just a lesson for all smugglers who already don't ask for money in advance, start.

secure trade window. money at the same time. cant cheat that way. if they refuse to pay, start an austion on the spot. It's amazing how fast people realize they want that 12% sliced weapon when they know they arent going to scam you.

Yeah thats what you have to do. They either bank tip before or they have to tip in a trade window. I was screwed out of money a while ago so I had to include this. In fact in my macro i use i say this atleast 2 or 3 times to make sure they understand.

Never ever trade without the money. After offering in spatial to put those Stuff for 6k per item in the next Bazaar Terminal you come about, they will shurly pay whatever you charged in the first place. Keep in mind you are a Smuggler. Nobody forces you to be honest all the time.

Put in your bio that if they don'tpay, it goes on the bazaar. Then tell them to read your bio beforehand. This saves me a ton of trouble with people. I even have quite a few tip me before I even slice, but I would prefer they wait until I'm ready to trade back.

Heh... some guy tried to scam me out of paying for slicing his comp armor suit. I told him that A) he either payed me right then and there or B) I was going to sell his composite armor to pay for my services and keep the change. He thought I was joking... heh...

/yell NEW PRE-SLICED COMP SUIT! 100K PST

lol he tipped me 50K (more than I would ever think of charging) faster than you could reply to my advertisement.

Just though I'd share that...

Yeah.. you want to trust people, But you can't. People have done all kinds of things to me and thoseI hang with. I have sat and watched a smuggler Rip a kid BLIND for like 20k per slice. Also seen clients looking to dodge paying for low end slices. Even had some one willing to tip me a Mill if I would let him use my account to try out an exploit they found, (No Way in HELL.) Anyway. I am cool with a bank tip so long as The Item is in the trade window, I would also be ok with tipping when I am finished. (before I handing it back mind you). Now if you have alot of repeat clients and you have built a level of trust "anything goes" I have done slices for free for some of my repeat business, Also give a discount to my faction. I guess you live and learn. I would post the persons name and see how fast they defend themselves.

Good luck my friend.

Yea as someone mentioned up in there, Have a Bio price list, and include all your terms on it. Tell them to read it before beginning the slice. That way antyhing you do, they have aggreed to. or ignored, which legally is the same. It ensures they can't report you for auctioning their weapon.

same thing here,i also got set up a nice bio with all the slicing prices and methods of paying,

that normally works unless the person did a search and my name came up,in that case after they ask if im master slicer(i have my rouge tag up),then i tell them to check my bio and they say their like 10k's away from my position lol so i have to send tell with the info.

Easiest and simple rule. Trade. But don't click the accept box till you have a bank tip email from them or you see them tip you. Simple. Easy. You get paid.

I too endorse the "Auction on the Spot" method. If you are feeling really nice you can put it on the bazaar for whatever. But Auction on the spot usually leaves a lasting impression since it utterly humiliates the bejeezus out of the jackass. And believe me, that in and of itself is usually a greater reward than however much you were going to get paid.
