Just thought I'd throw my two cents in on slicing, since everybody else does.
I have a very mixed bag when it comes to slicing. I'm not one of those die hard roleplaying smugglers, though I will roleplay if the customer is (usually nets me a tip
) and I'm not one of those spammers in cnet. I at least want the general feel of a smuggler when I'm slicing, so I stick to the cantinas (which the roleplayers seem to appreciate), and I let the work come to me. I don't charge very much, 5k per slice is the top of my scale, I don't go to people, if they want my slice they come to me. If they're not roleplayers I make them read my bio price list, which includes various disclaimers and warnings, including that if they refuse to pay I'm going to sell their item to the highest bidder in the immediate area. I don't have any problem customers, with the exception of the occasional person who doesnt have the cash and has to run to the bank, and I generally receive a lot of money in extra tips. Recently I was paid 100k for 3 slices.
Basically I've found a system that works for me. It gives me what I want out of slicing, I don't get bored doing it, and I don't deal with morons. I think if you don't like spamming in cnet, or whatever way you slice, don't do it. find a better way to slice for your own style, or stop slicing for less than 50k each.

I've been a Master Smuggler for about 7 or 8 months. I still charge just 100 credits per %, and for every person who pays exactly what I charge, I get someone else who pays 5k, 10k, 50k (or more) as a tip for my services, and then seeks me out again later to pay me just as much or more. In fact, one customer was so thrilled with the damage slice I got on his Acklay Power Hammer he tipped 2 million credits.
Now frankly, I'd much rather be remembered as the guy who got "that awesome damage slice" and deserves repeat business and big tips over being remembered as the guy who charged 25k on a "stupid speed slice".

Yeah same here, I just charge 100c/1% with no charge for 15% or under, and I get a lot of repeat business. In most cases, for a full set of composite, the total charge will end up being like 20k-30k and people will still give me 50k-60k

I've been a smuggler since I started the game in January... well I actually mastered it the first week fo Feb if my memory is not failing me. Anyway I charged 100c per % for a long time then just got tired of all the math when doing suits of armor so I just went to s straight fee of 3k per slice. Made a lot of money that way for awhile, then I just drew tired of sitting somewhere slicing stuff and got a bit frutrated with having to argue with people about not being able to guarantee a dmg slice.... anyway I don't slice for the open public anymore just those who know who I am, guild and stuff.
"Hey man I have a job for you."
"Oh yea, what kind of Job."
"Well I have somesensitive cargoI need delievered to the outer rim."
"So what's that got to do with me."
"I hear you can... ah... bypass certain shipping procedures and cargo restrictions. I got a lot of money invested in this shipment I need someone who can get it through. I'll be honest though my client has been known to try and not pay.... well and he's been known to blast a few holes in some of my past runners."

"hmmm extreme danger and high probability of loss of life...... Hey I'm you're man...... oh shoot... I almost forgot.. I don't have those skill blocks yet..... DULT!

I'm a firm believer in the KISS principle...I charge a flat fee of 5k per slice as I will NOT take responsibility for random game-mechanics SOE put into place.
I also though don't advertise, the customer finds me and comes to me. I hate slicing spammers. I wish there was a way we could not even have our title up and still have customers know we're masters. Perhaps an NPC 'informant' that players can go to to find a list of master smugglers in the vicinity?

If I say once "Master Smuggler Slicing ...", just once, people come to me on and on and on. I get a line of people waiting to get a slice heh.
And what is with the title thing? I try to take MAster Smuggler off. It says none. Then when I leave the game and log back in it pops up again.
Well, maybe it was something else they changed since I got back

I think putting None will only last while you're on and resets to the most recent master. Try setting it to rogue or another title, it should stay as that.

Yea, your title seems to default back to what it was if you go with none then log. Which is a pain for docs and smugs, who will end up logging into /tellhell. I usually set my title to tkm or novice marksman or anything else thats not a smuggler title if i want to avoid the throng. that will stay on if you log.
