Well Im back (for now). If you dont remember me, I was one of the original Master Smugglers on Ahazi.
So whats the best use of my master Smuggler in this current version of SWG?
Any Ahazi Smugglers still around?
FYI, I have been lurking these boards for a while, and I must say that the smuggler forums for this game is one of the best forums on the net!

the smugglerforum is not that funny like it was some month, or maybe a year ago I suppose :/ Many of the actual users are not cool, just some moaning **edit**, but welcome back, you missed a lot ^^
Smuggler is still good as slicemonkey, but still not good for anything else, so in this case you have NOT missed that much ^^

Those of us that were funny have either quit or been banned into submission. Now I just get into fights with people who don't belong here

I think the forums are definitely not what they once were back a year ago. Thanks to the strategy of the development team, players have developed the behavior that "Ye Whom Whines Loudest Gets Thine Attention" - and the forums have degraded into a competition of petition posts, complaints and doing anything imaginable to get some much needed attention and changes to their profession.
And right now, smugglers just don't seem happy (not that we're the most borked profession out there, just that we're the most bowled over by SoE).
Oh, and welcome back - whomever you are.(I wasa BH in the beginning, so I don't know the old smugglers)

Have you noticed how SOE put is in some of the most frustrating roles?
Slice Monkey: We have to sit and explain the new system over and over again, and the pricing, and all that crap, and how we're not "cheating them" because last time "they got a 30% slice"...
Crowd Control: Great... If you have anything less than the most focused, on task team, that knows your job, they're going to **** up your mezzes and kill everyone on the team. And then blame it on you.

I'll tell you what's really annoying... when you have two smuggler / commando's in the group (well, ok I only have novice commando), one of which tries to crowd control, the other one is an idiot that breaks all mezz's becuase he can't put away his toys, and aggros everything within 30 miles. That's usually about the time where smuggler #2 gets booted from the group.

Actually, the problem comes from having any commando weapon in a group with someone using Smuggler specials. It seems they either have to be used in conjunction or not at all. At least you can tell the other professions not to use area specials.

There are a few (well, about half) commando weapons that are broken to the point that the AoE doesn't work. Any master commando should know that, and be able to know better when they see the smuggler in the group trying to area control things so everybody doesn't die. Some people just don't get the idea of crowd control, and that's all there is to it. Same thing happens in every MMO I've ever played... one person tries to control things, and others end up breaking the control because they just can't leave well enough alone.
