we should (at least Smugglers) have the ability to do the same. i don't see why combat should prevent the boarding of a ship (well i can see how with the way they handle ship boarding in the game. since you have to access your ship via a terminal, rather than actually GOING to your landed ship and hopping in)
but still the idea remains the same.
we should be able to take off when we need to.

(although none of this really applies till we get Player BHs coming after us)

A capital idea. Discuss.

I think that what you already posted says it all. Though for those of us combatant's who regularly have to blast our way past starport guards to get onto our ships this would also apply, not just to BH's.

A very in character thing, and would be great, BUT, within the combat mechanics, would be akin to a Jedi running into a private house, while already engaged in a BH TEF.

I pointed out in the original thread that Jedi are already using a somewhat suspect method to escape on a ship out of a fight. BHs do NOT respond well to this, and we all know what that turns into. Flame Wars.

I'm all for avoiding BHs. Han knew the difference between a pushover like Greedo, and someone like Boba Fett. He avoided the tough ones. We should have avoidance methods, but I don't think this should be one of them.

Hmm, that's true. I seem to remember reading somewhere on here about raising the difficulty to track us over Jedi, since we work harder at keeping off the radar and whatnot. Wish I remember what post I saw it in, since my rambling isn't doing the idea justice.

There was an idea where smugglers would have a device to "scatter" the tracking droids signal, making the waypoints recieved by the BH appear within a random location of a smug's actual location

Sounds similar to the /distract skill I proposed a little while back.
