I just have one question, why is everybody respecing to smuggler??? I have been out of the game for 4 months (I'm in afghanistan, and was waiting on my new puter) I come back in, and i see smuggler is a FOTM now. Argg.
Is it because the new skills we have, or is it just that big gun?????
I saw some respec back lash, tonight. I asked 3 master smuggler tag wearing players about slicing. Two told me they didn't know, because they have never sliced. The other started calling me a a noob respecer.
Me I didn't really have to respec much, dropped TKA, added a line of bh. Still a master smuggler. I don't care that people respec to smuggler, I just feel this being a prof that is more than combat it shouldn't have been a respec prof.
Maybe they should give vet smugglers a reward for sticking it out for so long. Maybe 10 automatic max slices or something.
{adding a few things.......
1. It has been really nice not being asked every 20 min to slice something. But, it also sucks most people can now slice there own stuff.
2. I don't like they took out our KD attack, had to pick up bh
3. Stop hating on people that don't read the stickies, I've been playing the game since launch. I ask nood questions time to time. I'm not completly sure what a sticky is, i'm thinking they are the post that stay at the top, but I could be wrong.
4. would like to see panic shot changed to master and cause anybody in the cone to drop to prone (not kd'ed) I lived in inercity Baltimore. When some one started spraying in a panic every one hits the ground

Read more of the forum and you will learn how spices and slicing have changed.
Most peeps are trying allot of different profs. Smuggler is popular ATM also due to the fact that the spices are the best buffs in the game. Also, with all new weapons and armor, slicing is hot again.
Give it time and most people will move to pure combat profs again.

After chatting with a respec'er last night - it would seem the Concussion shot is a big draw - Root'em and Shoot'em was the phrase I heard!

my jedi friend help me get a cyberarm then gave me a Quickshot! I was stoked. I look like a total freak now. I already nasty looking before I got the ranged arm. I got a 13% slice on it which made me jump out ofseat cause I had been slicing renegades all week for 5-8%. its final DPS is like a crapping 370 but it sure looks sci-fi'lygrotesque with that cyber arm- which I was very happy about. Now WTH is up with /cyberneticsnipeshots gimpd dmg?

lol, i'm smart
i respecced away all of my medic skills and put them in for Master Marksman and Unarmed IV, all i need to do now is grind for Novice Smuggler, because i've always wanted my character to be one (the character i had that WAS a smuggler i deleted cuz i was bored lol)

its actually really cool when you stack panic and lowblow on target now. tanks love us for this because they slow the mobs attack speed by alot. concussion shot has basicly replaced /lowblow; /pause 1; /panicshot; /pause 1; /peace.
Concussion does that now in one shot but I could have my specials namesmixed up but we have a root now which did what that macro used to do in one shot. I miss KD but smug is fun now in combat. be safe out there

Soon as I heard that I wouldn't need the rifle and carbine lines anymore for BH, I knew exactly where those skill points were going.Right into smuggler, which I'd always wanted. Even if there were no good specials or skills, I'd still have done it without regret. As it is, my first factory run of spice should be finished today, I've racked up about 40,000 slicing exp from locked containers cause I like slicing them, and I'm having a blast.

I respec'ed my combat toon to smugg/pistoleer with some medic. It is a great crowd control toon and my party mates love it that I can take care of adds. No idea what you consider unplayable. Perhaps you mean it doesn't fit your style of play. Smuggler (by itself) was pretty much wothless in combat before. Now it is a viable and valuable toon in a group.

I tried smuggler when the game initially came, but I also tried some other professions in between like many others. I really only respeced to smuggler because of the potential the Smuggler update has from what I've read so far it will be a cool profession outside of just the combat stuff.
