Thread: two questions. 1) is damage slice better than speed slice and 2) why cant i slice my clone armor

1) i got 2 5% dmg slices on 2 proton carbines, would they be better if they were speed slices?

2) i cannot slice my katarn clone trooper armor. i have 2 sets, they are bio linked to my alt, does the person its bio linked to have to slice it?

clone armor has odd rules about it. for instance, Trandos can wear the boots... not well I might add...

That's be my guess on that one.

and a Speed or Damage slice do exactly the same thing now, increase the DPS. both are equally good.

A damage slice would be better for an Elite Master since he almost never misses. Since you almost never miss dealing more damage up front will let you kill whatever you're trying to kill faster.

A non-master has a better chance of missing, so a speed slice is better for those types since you'd need to get more shots fired to deal comparable damage.

In short: If you have high accuracy, better to have a damage slice. If you have low accuracy, better to have a speed slice.

AVERAGE DPS means that whether you have 500 DPS from speed, or 500 DPS from damage, YOU WILL KILL THE MOB AT THE SAME RATE.

Killing something at the same rate is completely different than killing something at the same time.

Since a person with high accuracy misses less often, that person has a lower standard deviation. This type of person benefits from a higher damage weapon since most shots will hit the target, hence the mob will drop sooner. A person with very low accuracy misses more often, so that person has a very high standard deviation. That person needs to have a faster weapon to get more shots in.

The point is, damage or speed slices do matter, especially to low accuracy combatants (such as myself, who is a Combat Medic and plays a support role).

very good point.. i like fast guns myself cuz I only have pistoleer 3000. My renegade sliced to 1.3 speed for me which spits out a virtually continuos stream of energy when alternating between placedshot, rangedshot, quick draw, and aimedshot.

I prefer more damage.


Action drains so fast that I rather do more damage and hit less than do less damage and hit more because in the long run I won't be hitting as much as I like.
