The 500fp is the limit of FP that you can purchase from a faction (and if you're over it, you can't purchase any from them). You should be able to delegate as much as you want at once - just remember that the ratio of faction given to faction received (by the person you're delegating to) gets better the higher your rank.

If you have the faction point's and wish to transfer them to him all you need to do is go overt and delegate the faction to him.. the only time that the 500fp faction limit's comes into account is when you are buying faction..

If you farmed the faction and you have the required faction is just a matter of delegating the faction to your friend and making sure you have the cost of the faction to do the transfer..

You are correct...

It should cost you around 7436 of your 7700 to give him 5200.

You will use the command: /delegate myfriend 5200 (NOT /delegate myfriend 7436)

It will automatically deduct your x1.43 amount. You will see a message something like:
"You delegate 5200 faction points to myfriend at a cost of 7436."

Howdy fellow Scoundrels,

I'm pretty sure I understand how faction point transfer works, but I want to make sure before I actually try it.

Im a Master Smuggler and Captain in the Alliance. I have a friend in my guild that has recently left the Empire to join us in the Alliance. Hes got -5000 in rebel faction and is a neutral now.

Ive collected 7500 reb faction points from missions and will now delegate him enough faction to be able to join the rebellion.

As I understand it there is a 500 fp limit for delegate. Is that right?

So I simply go overt, then /delegate 500 over and over until he has enough to join... at my current rank it will cost me about 7700 fp to grant him the 5200 he needs (roughly).
