I recently, about a week ago, obtained the lovely title of Master Smuggler. I've been slicing and dicing weps all week making a nice chunk of change doing it. Occasionally I recieve the tell asking how much I sell faction points are. How exactly do I do this? I know it has something to do with master smuggler and such? Please bear with me as I am fairly new to master smuggler and it's smuggness.

Actually anyone can sell faction points. You must be overt though. Target the person you want to sell them to and type /dele or /delegate to transfer the faction points. You can type the amount you want to give after /dele but I like seeing what it is going to cost me on the screen that appears. There is a loss for doing this. The higher rank you have the less it will cost.

The smuggler on the other hand can purchase faction points from the recruiter. I think you need underworld 4 to get this skill. I do not know the exact amount but you can only purchase so many. So you buy as many as you can then sell them and then buy some more. I do not know how much they cost but it can be much faster than running missions to get the faction.

Purchasing faction costs ten thousand credits for one hundred faction points. There is a hard cap you can max on when purchasing faction. Once you reach 500 faction points, you are no longer allowed to purchase faction, this was brought in to stop Imperial Smugglers from buying AT-STs(which are now a joke, many TKA's can solo them, who aren't even Master level yet... ).

Anyway, the best way to do this is to first, rank to Colonel in your chosen faction. This will lower your delegation ratio to 1.18:1. Meaning it will cost 118 faction to give your target 100 faction. Then, have your customer pay all the money up front, including your fee for doing this, as buying lots of faction in 300 point increments is time consuming.(At the bottom of this reply will link to a thread that better explains this in much greater detail.)

There is a macro you can set up, which will purchase the faction points automaticly, and delegate them. Its also a good idea to set up a looping feign-death macro, incase someone tries to gank you in the middle of a business deal.(Your spatial chat will be very crowed at this point, so you may wanna group with your customer and stay in group chat.)

Also, there are those who wish to get Master Smugglers to purchase factional perks with the 25% discount you get. This discount is uneffected by rank(unless you're an Imperial Alien). For this, you need only join the faction to purchase said perks. However, there are certain perks you can only purchase while Overt(such as deeds to bases), and certain perks that require higher rank to aquire(such as higher level base deeds).

As it is now, the factional sale system is arduous, at best, but, if you're persistant, keep your customers happy, and let them know ahead of time what this business deal will require, you'll do fine.

Have a good one.

Become a Colonel in your chosen faction before you choose to do this. Otherwise, the faction delegation cost will be too high for you. If you don't want to join either Imperial or Rebel factions, just respond with, "sorry, that's not my specialty".

If you are a colonel in your chosen faction, make sure you have less than or equal to 500FP and go to a recruiter with your buyer. go overt. "bribe" the recruiter with 10k credits, and he gives you 125 fp. wash, rinse, repeat, until you have 500+ fp, delegate that to the "buyer". wash, rinse, repeat, until you met the order. VERY TEDIOUS... there is a macro you can use, but you risk retiring from your faction if you dare to use it.
