Is slicing random, hmm I think not. I bought 2 sets of comp armor yesterday. One set was 80% comp, the Ham costs were high, extremely high. So I sliced it and every slice was a effective slice. So I bought another set of 80% comp, used a different set of tools and AUK's Still same thing. So I got the armor smith to make just a regular set of comp, no special protection. The Ham stats on it were lower of course, so I sliced it and all the slices on this set were for encumberance.

What in the world causes this, Its crazy, If a set of armor has High ham its like the percentage of getting a encumb slice is lower. I know this sounds crazy, but I have seen this happen way to many times to be just random.

Tell me what you think?

80% base on a suit of comp armor? and you bought two suits?

I call b*edit*it.

But to answer your question... in order to get 90% base effectiveness you have to have 67% base armor. The average range for effectiveness slices is 11-35% and encumberance being 11-45%. The higher the base of a piece of armor is, the more of a chance you will recieve an encumberance slice. There are alot more possibilities to recieve a slice which falls in the 34 difference encumberance possibilities.

Lets say you did have 80% base armor. The highest possible effectiveness slice you would recieve would be 12-13%. Allowing basically ( if from 0 ) 13 difference possibilities.

Hmm glad im not the only one, thats noticed this. And to clarify about the armor , it was 80% kenetic resist not 80% over all and yes it did have a 67% overall base, which with a effective slice took it to 80% kenetic and 75% base. Good armor to be sure. But wearing it was UGGH had total ham costs in the low to mid 700's.

Actually I've been lucky on weapons that I slice for myself, but armor on the other hand had to spend almost 3 million dollars to get the slices I wanted. I just hope they make it where you can choose between a Damage and a Speed slice. It just kills me how random it is really sucks

I bought some armor with insane mind encum (over 1k), and I sliced it and got mostly encum slices, save for two crappy effec slices...

Going to WoW.

This game blows.

what ive noticed mostly with weapons is that certain weapons have a tendency to get certain slices, the FWG5 for istance will come out speed sliced 8 of 10 times, also armor which has an already high base often get enbumb slices on big pieces

Yes, they are random:

2 DE-10 Pistols with Krayt Tissue.

Both high damage and high speed.

One ended up with a 34% Damage Slice.

One ended up with a 32% Speed Slice.

Both of those were done at the same time.

A full crate {25} of high-damage Vibro Knucklers.

14 came off with speed slices.

11 came off with damage slices.

It just depends on the rolls.

Sorry but it's random and up to luck. I get highs and lows. Perosnaly I find I'm quite lucky at getting high damage slices on other peoples weapons when they give me "one" to slice(espeical mates when I say to them I won't charge them for the slice:smileymad, thoughwhen someone give me multipul weapons they are granateed to get low slices. Same thing when it comes to shopping for new equipment.I have the worst luck. I know exactly what I want and I won't get it without slicing items until I run out of money or tools or patience. Armor I usualy by a suit, slice it, sort out the bits I wanthen get more peice of the bits that don't work out till I have a suit I like. Then I slap all the failed peice on my vendor for a reduction of what I bought them for. damn I'm ramberling... where was I, oh yes it's random!
