Hi Smugglers. I am a fairly new armorsmith. I have about 300+ items that need to be sliced. I was wondering what the going rate would be for a bulk order like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what the other folks will reply on this, but I have my own thoughts. 300 pieces of armor is a tall order simply because of the time involved to slice each piece. I did four sets of armor the other day for a gentleman and it was time consuming for me, taking away from time that I should have been hunting.

I'm guessing were you to bring that order to me, I would charge you somewhere around 2.5 - 3K per piece. You might want to break it up and have it done in smaller lots. That would certainly make the process less tedious.

I just finished a bulk order this weekend for nearly 600 pieces. I charged 3K per slice, and it was for a guy in my PA. For non-PA members, I would charge more. It takes a LOT of time to do, and they usually stand to make a whole lot more profit from the pieces that I slice.

if it was 300 pieces of armour id probably say 1mil, on teh 3k tid be 900k but because time would now come into consideration id charge the extra 100k.....

On an order that large, I'ld drop it down to my old price of 5k per slice. However, you only gonna get that price on 100 or more items from me. Otherwise it's 8k per slice for bulk orders (27 pieces or more).

On shadowfire I slice bulk for 2k/piece. It largely depends on your server, since many smugglers are upping their prices to around 5k/slice, although SF's been kept down around 2-4k/slice.

I do it for that little 'cause I kinda' like slicing, also considering it takes about 10secs or less per piece (which really adds up). I know one WS that wanted to pay 1k/slice, butI know for surehe never got that low, since he told me later he got someone to do it for 1.5k/slice.

Still, at 2k/slice, I make a great profit margin since it barely costs me anything to slice stuff, I harvest my own materials.

300 items at my usual price of 5k would cost a cool 1.5 million, so that's the baseline.

I've done 300 pieces recently and I could compare that to about one branch of weaponsmithing or armoursmithing. There are no macro's to help us and where someone handing you 9 items at a shuttleport is 3 minutes work, 300 items means moving items around and that takes extra space and more time. The alternative is that I remove them from your factory myself, and place them on your vendor for 1 cr each.

Then, depending on when you want delivery you need to factor into that the sheer grind of having to slice 300 pieces which gets slower as you go along because you get tired, your eyes start to water, your hand cramps.

Then you have to consider that during my time I coulg go out and buy 50 pieces of armour, slice them and sell them off for a small fortune myself and then consider the fact that even if you paid me the full 1.5 million I still wouldn't be able to afford the best of the items from my profit. ( considering a 45% enc sliced, 80% effectiveness comp helm would sell on my server for 2 to 3 million.

At the point you ask for that many items sliced you have to understand that it's not fun and profit, it's work and profit and that probably accounts to 3 to 4 hours of my life. Personally I don't think I'd give you any discount for a bulk order like that.

You'd pay me 1.5 million for the satisfaction of knowing that in 2 days time you'd have 300 sliced items and 5 days later you'd have recouped your money and more. I'm pricey but I'm good and I can afford to take it or leave it.

During my stint you would also pay for corellian ale and provide female dancers.

My advice to you is to find a smuggler on your server ( im on Eclipse btw ) willing to go into business with you. Make a deal that he slices items for you free of charge but he gets a cut of the final take. You might end up paying him double what you normally would but he goes away with a lot of cash and will be willing to do it again for you in the future.

I'd do 1 lot of 300 items for you but I wouldn't make it a regular thing for 1.5m and Im sure many would feel the same way.
