Thread: I know there's a damage slice cap but how about speed?

I have an Elite Carbine with speed of 2.21 and after doing the math it appears that I could cap the speed on this Carbine with a full 12% speed slice.
2.21 * .12 = .2652 or .27
2.21 - .27 = 1.94
Isn't the speed cap for all Carbines 1.95? If I can carry out this slice I would reall like to as this would give me one powerful Carbine. Is this possible or are Speed Slices artificially capped just as Damage slices are?

Well I found out in the FAQ there most likely IS a cap to the speed slice but there's no word yet on the Elite Carbine. Has anyone actually tested one to see the Speed Slicing cap?

All I know is that people have been reporting slicing pistol speeds well BELOW the crafting caps. There might not even be a speed slice cap, and if there is it's probably pretty low. If you read the slicing caps thread, nobody yet has reported hitting a speed slice cap. The values listed are just crafting caps, and we just all assumed that the slice caps would be somewhere close to that.
Oh well, you know what happens when people assume...
