The locked containers no longer have the red/blue wire system and for a long time the containers have produced a lot of unwanted low grade loot. I think it's time the locked containers became more useful to the smuggler...
Make a more complex opening system being more difficult for a novice smuggler and easier for a master smuggler to open, this could be done by lessening the amount of combinations needed to unlock the container (20 locks for a novice decreasing as the player progresses through the smuggler tree and giving masters only 10 locks to bypass). The container should take a while to open and the system should not always be successful. Failed openings could include a lock jam mechanism rendering the container useless and for the unfortunate smuggler the odd booby trapped one which explodes incapping the smuggler and perhaps setting fire to them and anyone within 10m of them or releasing a disease/poison.
Successfully opening a container could be the equivelant to Bounty Hunter boss mark loot.

If you wanted to make this into a service for non smugglers...
Simply add a bio link option which can be applied before trading the container with the smuggler, the smuggler can then charge a fee to his/her client for opening it. Bio linked containers can be unlocked by smugglers but only the person who has added their bio signature can finally open it to retrieve it's contents.

sounds fun but I think that most of the smugglers want their smuggling before more mini games (though this would be a nice mini game for a future date after smuggling is implemented)

Yeah, any more of this BS "love" (like the new slicing) instead of an actual smuggling aspect to this game, would just be one more insult.

I like locked container slicing as it is right now, thank you very much. They aren't in high demand anymore, so they are dirt cheap. Everytime I see them, I buy a whole bunch and slice them open.
Today I found a lightsaber speed tape in a container I payed 5k for, and it only took me a second (no tools!) to open. Containers are fine, we need missions. Not some stupid talk to X NPC that sends you to Y NPC then to kill Z's mob group kind of crapola, real BH grade smuggling missions.
