a new way of slicing: adding components to weapons/armours.
Instead of slicinga weapon/armour, we just add a component to it. This way, we can choose what aspect to enhance. this would require several components crafted by other professions(similar to the wuk/auk are at the present time) or perhapslooted ones from NPC's/creatures. Melee examples: sharpening kits for more damage, lightening kits for higher speed. Ranged example: energy-cap overrider for more damage. Coupler-wiring kit for better speed. These could be temporary, since the added components could be "deep-fried" after a certain period of time or uses. this has been discussed in another thread, but i altered that plan a bit.
this could possibly also be done with a DoT that can be added to a weapon. this is all to enhance the connections smugglers will need to be able to make as much money as possible, by providing service to whatever needs customers might have... for a price, naturally. for instance, the armour-kits might still be craft-able by Weaponsmiths/Armoursmiths. But a DoT-kit might either be looted from a creature(rancor bile might make a nice melee-DoT) or crafted by a CM or BE. Also: a DE might be able to craft some precision-chipsets that increase accuracy on a ranged weapon, giving a to-hit bonus.
offcourse, only 1 slice might be active at any time. example: pre-patch sliced weapons cannot be DoT-sliced. and once the slice is gone, it can be sliced again, possibly at the cost of max cond.
what does everyone thinkof this?

I think these would be cool as power-ups, especially the DOT idea. My inventory is full enough carrying crates of WUKs/AUKs/Clamps/Knives, I'm not to crazy about having to carry more items. Someday I'm hoping to dump my backpack, but with a set of Comp and Ubesse, plus weapons and Smugglers supplies it just isn't possible.

well, i can loot for an hour without getting a full inventory... even with a backpack full of crates/weapons/resources... just wear the armour 24/7
that'll be neccesairy anyway if we end up on BH terms...
come-on peeps, i need more feedback about this one!
