Thread: Slice'n the short answer after CU

OK Folks the short answer as I understand it [If i am wrong let me know]


1. Weapons now crafted have a "cap" to the stats [see weaponsmith forums]

2. When we slice a weapon [ in either damage or speed -still seems random] we "boost" the weapon to the "cap" in that stat.


Thats why when you slice weapons from a crate you get all the same % in damage or speed.


note: havent sliced any armor so dont know if this works the same or if there is the same "cap" on stats with armor [need to check the armorsmith boards]

I would say it's the same for armor. I sliced a complete set of Marine Recon armor and got exactly 7% effectiveness on every piece.

so we ALWAYS cap out any weapons now?

why i got a 0% slice on a pistol today then?maybe because it was already at damage cap due to good crafted ressources?


so we ALWAYS slice to max possible? so the 9% in my case always is max possible for this weapon?

Right now i would say yes we always cap at master smuggler at least...


Only way to test it is to find the "worst crafted" weapon possible and the "best crafted" weapon possible and slice both for damage or speed... then check against the weapons "cap" list on the weaponsmith forum.

This makes sense, i bought a bunch of carbines to go for that high slice we all used to dream about. Every single gun got a 5% slice to either speed or damage range, giving them identical DPS. I sliced a Knuckler for 17% speed tho.

I think its unethical most of the time to /bump my own post but this is important since so many questions about slicing have surfaced. [Plus i am to lazy to rewrite it... lol]

Has anyone confirmed this with the Devs? Just wondering. If this is true, then we should letcustomers know that we always max out some part of their weapon or armors stats. This should bring in some good revenue and customer base. Now all we need to do is figure out a good price to charge for slicing, 20k anyone?

Good to know.

How does this explain the -% slices though? Or the +% but no apparent change in the stats?


Were those just glitches that have now been worked out of the system (as long as one slices post CU equipment that is)?
