Thread: Slicing Hard Stop for Damage?

Alright, complaint time.
What is this cap crap with our slices. I had a good friend, 12 pointer WS on Ahazi make me a very nice Renegade that was 562 modified damage to me post slice. I put a 29% damage/21% speed barrel on it and the power dropped to a modified 544. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? I thought this was a bugged powerup but bought some made post CU and tried on a post-CU scatter, 5 to be exact. All at a presliced modified of 324.
Slice 1: 4%
Slice 2: 4%
Slice 3: 3%
Slice 4: 4%
Slice 5: 4%
Installed barrels again and once again they all dropped in power. Below the original value to 318. Is there an artificial hard stop for damage that has been implimented? If this was put in at least tell me so I can avoid the advanced decay rate of a slice.
Has anyone else been experiencing bad slices on great weapons and good slices on junk weapons?

I don't know if this explains your slicing experience, but there are hard caps on every weapon in damage, speed and wounding. There is a thread in the WS forum that is tracking this. Not all weapons have had all of their caps identified, but at least it's a guide. Now I do not know if it's intended that you cannot increase the stats of a damage or speed capped weapon, but I would guess it's true. Everything I have read so far tells me you get better slices on crappy weapons and small (if not negative) slices on good weapons. Personally, I am slicing nothing until the revamp comes through

I posted with a similar question, and the basic summary of the response I got was, the better the gun, the crappier the slice. Period. :/
