10 years. Thats right it's been ten years. 1995 when i first got a message back from Lucas Arts about a multiplayer game that was going to come out. Now back then i was hoping for a graphic version of a MUDD. Nothing more. They really did a great job of designing the worlds. But like most games they rushed everything. I think they lost focus of what they where doing. Thats why the largest movie franchise in history with the most depth has created for the most part a very shallow game. But this is the smuggler forum so lets talk some shop. Now I don't claim to be an expert on smuggling but being in the U.S. military and having run anti smuggling operations in the real world maybe i can offer some insight. First off the biggest problem is also the most obvious and hardest to fix. Laws. Smuggling is illegal and there are no laws in SWG. Most smuggling has more to do with trade embargo's than it does with dangerous materials. So there's something to think about. SWG will have to shunt some freedom to make smuggler happen. But this is a game and games normally have rules. So thats one thing. Law enforcement is what should make this game fun. Thats also very hard.No matter what system is put in place to catch smugglers players will fined a way to defeat it. So a shifting constantly updated system will have to exsist. Being chased across theknown univers will probably never happen in thisstarwars muliplayer game. Honestly to have a real good smuggling game they would probably have to make an all new one. The fact is SWG made some real smart decisions and some very bad ones in the intail design of this game and quite honestlythese mistakes will probably cost usthe ability to ever smuggle properly.
