Well I set out about a month ago to master smuggler, this was it…. After playing the game for a year and playing weaponsmith, rifleman, master bh, tkm, doc and many others… this is what I wanted to be.

I love pistols, (despite their weaknesses) I love TK. I like to be social and hang out, and it is great when you can make money doing it. I set out to master smuggler, but I saw how hard of a time a friend had trying to get the pistol xp with no other pistol skills, so I decided to master gunfighter first. Along the way I think I sorta mastered teras kasi by accident… I had planned to go straight from pistoleer to smuggler but that did not exactly happen.

Anyway, now it is done. I am almost a Colonel, so I can sell faction. I have factories where I make crates of spice, clamps, knives, etc. I also have turned myself into a "gun runner".

I sell my clamps, knives by the crate by delivering them People also tell me what they are looking for as far as a weapon is concerned. If you need something… I might not have it.. but I can get it…

For example, I may purchase a weapon, slice it and provide them with what they need. (For example someone wants a good damage sliced dxr6.) I find a good shop which has some decent ones for 15k, buy them until I get a good damage slice, and then deliver them to the customer and sell them for 80K. the ones that got the speed slice I will try to sell to novice bounty hunters and carbineers to at least break even or even make a little profit on those. By delivering all kinds of goods and paraphanalia I really "feel" like a smuggler. I hardly ever find myself doing any kind of creature missions anymore…

The cool thing is that I can be social and roleplay like this while still making lots of money. It sure beats the hell out of mindlessly camping mobs all day.

I am having much more fun than I imagined I would. I get to enjoy the best elements of crafting, pistol fighting, PVP, high end PVE, business, slicing, smuggling… I can make money just walking around in the game being social and I fit in just about anywhere.

Here it has been a year and I am happier with the game than I have ever been. On top of that I have the pistol and smuggler revamps to look forward too, not to mention JTL.

Many people who call themselves smugglers don’t really smuggle at all. Just because the devs have not created specific smuggler "delivery" missions does not mean they have not set you up to be able to smuggle if you want too. I love to "acquire" high level illegal weapons, spices, and slicing paraphanalia and deliver them to my customers. This makes me a smuggler in my book, and it is player interactive smuggling that the devs just could not match.

P.S. there was a debate about whether 40% and up weapon slices are possible…. Many people were saying that these types of slices for weapons are not possible. Well keep in mind that only 10% of the people in game are actually on the forums. I have 2 long term smuggler and ex-smuggler friends who do not participate on the forums. who say this is indeed possible and they have gotten at least 1 40%+ slice on a weapon (without using an exploit), though it is very, very rare. So if someone got a 40+ weapon slice don’t automatically label them exploiters unless you have documentation from the developers indicating that it is impossible to get a 40+ slice.
