On Lowca, in Coronet, at approximately 10:00p.m. EST........

a MASTER smuggler............ spamming his services.

What on earth has this profession come to?

Just goes to show you that for every 10 of us who actually want to smuggle in SWG, there's always at least one guy who couldn't care less about smuggling. I understand the master-wanna-be's who spam because they cant find enough containers....but a MASTER? Where's the self-respect? Where's the pride?

It's gone.

registered 9-18 and this is the first time you've seen a master spamming their slicing or spicing services at a starport?

This is either the most misdirected alarmist post I've ever seen or my first cup of coffee hasn't kicked in yet and I'm just not finding humor in a joke post.

I've seen tons of novices spamming for containers but thats about it.

MAsters, for the most part, have always been either too busy, or appreciated roleplay too much to resort to cheap spam promoting.

so finish that coffee mate.

/agreed Raagnat...

I didn't spam my services UNTIL I was master. Pretty much given it up now, but spammed coronet for well over two months because I needed the money. But I think the post is a joke....

Sorry guys, I must be more naive than I thought. The post wasn't a joke.

Now I know why so many people feel like they can't charge more than 2K per slice.

Thank you/

No problem, Intelerebel....
It's not ascommon now to see them for some reason, least not on Eclipse, but about three months ago they were all over the place. There were usually two or three outside Coronet. Hologrinding I suspect.

Thats bullshiit, Rebelmundy...

I have been Master Smuggler for over 4 months now, and I occasionally offer my services outside Coronet. I don't need the money... I just enjoy slicing. It's one way I relax in the game after a tense night on the Corvette or in the Geo dungeon.

Early on I did it because I was poor. It's a great way to meet people and make some pocket changewithout going to Dant to blast animals all night long. No, I don't roleplay... but I don't blast those that do.

Dont mean to bash anyone, I just feel like a Spamming Smuggler is as bad asa 500 credit slice. I thought that was the subject of the thread and the poster needed a bit of agreement instead of laughed, And I do agree with him.

Ok... I respect your opinion. I made master smuggler as a holocron, but loved slicing so much I never went on. Though I don't do it near as often as I used to, every now and then I do like to "get back to my roots" and slice for people outside Coronet. I realize in the "real" Star Wars Galaxies smugglers would never be so obvious, but, like I said, I do it simply because I enjoy slicing sometimes, and enjoy meeting the people. So don't begrudge me if ya see me outside the Starport! Just realize I'm HAVING FUN!

I think all we're seeing here is a difference in the perception of the Smuggler. Many see the Smuggler as a means to an end. i.e. Another way to make credits, another way to kill mobs. Others see the Smuggler as a 'style' of play. Not nessisarily a roleplayer, but a person that sees more than the mechanics and skill set of the character when they see or play a Smuggler. A person in the first camp would see spamming as totally acceptable, because how else are you going to get business? It's the fastest way to grow a client base, the most efficient way to grow the bank. Those in the second camp see a Smuggler offering illegal services at the top of his lungs in a public place conter-intuitive. What criminal or outlaw performs their criminal or outlawish function out in the open? Make sense?

I see spamming in starports quite often on Starsider which has a pretty good roleplaying community. The worst thing i've seen so far was a master shouting free slices; that will kill business really quickly for others.

I'll be honest I RP on Tempest but when I'm low on cash and don't feel like hunting I will go off to one side of the starport and spam. Nowhere in my spam do I say slice though. It normally goes something like "Master Smuggler Currently taking orders on Weapon and Armor enhancements"
