Thread: Triple Masters and Force Sensitivity

Ok, I don't know how many Smugglers here plan to embark upon the Force Sensitive quests, but there seems to be a bit of a snag for Triple Masters.

From a FF attendee, some Q/A about Force Sensitivity and Jedi was posted on the Jedi boards, and a couple of questions are relevant...

Q: On the nature of the new FS quests... Will crafters have an equal chance, or will it require combat professions?

A: Still under design, so still being worked out. Idea is that everyone can have a shot at the FS. Since there are FS boxes with different foci, the idea is to have quests related to those foci. So if you are questing on crafting related FS boxes, they'll have something to do with crafting. But they're still working on that. The goal is that you never HAVE to revoke any skills to complete FS quests.

That's great! No need to drop any skills to get the FS slot. But then...

Q: FS boxes. You get 250 skillpoints, will these come out of some other kind of skillpoints?

A: Normal skillpoints, you'll have to give up 24 of your 250 for these.

Oops. Triple Masters only have 3 skill points left, so to complete the FS quests, you MAY have to revoke skills, despite the previous statement that you never HAVE to revoke any skills. What's up with that?

You're misreading this and yet still correct. hehe. From what I understand you go through the quests and finish them then 2 things happen.

1. Your main character becomes force sensitve (ie the ability to drop skills to pick up force abilities and eventually go jedi or keep the fs toon smuggler)

2. You open a second slot that is not force sensitive. (you can repeat the quests with this character)

After this your Main character mine being a triple master can remain just as he is and have only novice fs modifiyers since the require 0 skill points. If however I wish to enhance my abilities (which I do) I will have to pick up levels under the fs skill trees for 1 point each. (master of a fs skill tree would require 16 skill points, 1 for each box 0 for novice 0 for master and 620 aps for master). After looking at the trees there is possibly 36 points that I will want to spend in total to aid my combat and slicing abilies. So yes at this point I am forced with a decision. To drop one of my elite professions. This I beleive is what will balance the game so that not everyone will be running around with uber fs combat characters. And although I don't know what I eventually will decide, I'm glad I cannot have all of the fs abilities and all of my current build, because that would make for some serious combat balance issues.

Try this site out. It will give you some insight to what you may want to pick up and better explain what I've stated above.

Current holo-grinders will get xp credit for the boxes based on what professions they have completed. Apparently they will weight the professions somehow, easy profs (basics) giving less credit, holo-profs giving more credit, and so on. So hologrinders who have not unlocked but have finished their holocrons and done a bunch of other professions will need to do some questing, but will have less to do than people who are starting out or haven't done holos or have just completed all the starting profs.

Yep. In order to complete the FS quests and unlock the second slot, you have to use at least 24 skill points. That means a Triple Master will have to drop a number of skills to complete the quest.

I know I took the first quote a little too literally and he meant that one would not have to revoke skills to gain skills needed to complete the quests, not that one wouldn't need to revoke skills because of skill points. Still, I'd hate to have to give up part of my Triple Mastery so I could open the slot (though I have already formulated a preliminary plan on what to drop and what FS skills to get ).

Question is, should I actually train Master TKA and blow the App Points only to surrender the box later (I'm a pistol-slinging sort of guy), or get TKA 4444 and hold on to the App Points for later use? I think they will be harder to come by once the hologrinding stops...

Yeah, but hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side.

I do believe I heard you CAN NOT revoke the FS skills you got from doing the quest. If that is true you can not even go back to being a tripple master after you unlock your new character slot. (I am not sure on this though, just something I heard that makes some sence, once Luke knew about the force he would not have been able to revoke the abilities it gave him. but then again once you know how to be a doctor you normaly can't forget it all in 10 seconds)

Well, if it's true that you can't surrender the FS skills once you have them, that should be made known, and I mean very obviously known, as in at least one confirmation box stating so, at the time you choose to spend a point on one. This makes it very important to choose carefully what FS skills one chooses, depending on one's plan for that character.

The plan I came up with is pretty much a permanent plan, I think, but others may want the second slot and yet not change their main character permanently.

Personally, I liked it when the second slot became the Jedi. I thought the idea of an "investigation" series of quests that led you to "discovering" a Jedi (which would open the Jedi slot when the quest was completed) was a great idea. Oh well.
