Last night while doing a tier 3 mission, delivering goods for Jabba, the Imperial on board the lambda called me a smuggler....at first I was like, "Yah for us smugglers!!!" Then I remembered that ANYONE can get this mission, and that basically, because of this, anyone can be a smuggler!!

That's right, you don't have to grind, just plop down 30 bucks and you too can get content the smuggler community has been waiting aeons for!!!

I know, this is nothing new, and it's been covered adequately on our boards before, and before I get off on my rant...I just wanted to vent..

We really need some love.

Im going to drop Smuggler become a master ID. Since anyone can be a smuggler in spaceI can smuggle cosmetics, hair dye and other beauty aids to needy ewoks on endor. Or maybe I will keep my Smuggler title and ask the dev's to a something pointless like food crafting to our skill set, either way its the same freakin thing!

Honestly, I'm really starting to like this. Why? Because I can drop this worthless prof and still be a (lowercase) smuggler. I've smuggled more in SmugAlliance than ever before as a Smuggler, and that hasn't changed, no matter how many pointless "Tusk Cat" missions I run.

That red name that came in here last week really summarized this prof for me. SOE hasn't bothered to give us anything, so its up to us to make it up in our own heads. Fine. But they want us to pay $15/mo for that?

You know the one thing that's really scaring me is that when the Smuggler revamp does come around, that the Devs will make it so you have to be part of the Smuggler's Alliance to smuggle items in space. So if you're a Master Smuggler but also an Alliance Ace Pilot, you get the shaft. Basically the Devs could force all Smugglers to become nuetral, even if on the ground they're factioned.

People could argue about Han Solo being a Smuggler and being a Rebel, but I don't think it would do much.

But anyway... it may not happen, and I pray it doesn't. It's just a nagging feeling that scares me.

The friends I made are worth the $15/mo.. The content we make keep me playing. Course I've had a lot of practice making something out of nothing being a Master Dancer & Master Smuggler. Alot of the content we do have is out of my reach.

The Warren? Done only because it's so camped the minute something spawned, 30 people attacked it.
Geo Caves? - In my dreams.
Corvette? - Uh huh, keep dreaming
Death Watch Bunker? - Please.
The village? kill 50 then 25 sith? - Rrrriiiigght.

I've done alot of sight seeing.

Now what my friends have done and I've been involved in? Far better that what SOE has given me.

While I'm happy for you that your friends haven't all left for other games yet ( ), it doesn't sound like you're happy with the status-quo either. Which I can more than understand, given your choice of template. But that just reinforces my criticism that Smuggler itself isn't offering any value as advertised.

You are right Zz

Iplay a Smuggler because it fits the storyarc I've created. What I get is the equivalent to a house you see on a Hollywood set. The Facade looks every bit like a real house but once you step through the front door, you relize that the Facade is all there is.

Am I going to drop Smuggler? No. It is what I want to play.
