Lol.
But seriously, we don't have half our skills actually mentioned in our profession tree. What if we have all these skills and mods that they just don't tell us about, because if they did, then the non-smuggler player base would cry foul that they don't have the same skills... Eh? Eh?
Noodle that one.
And there's my extra insane comment for the day

LOL
How many times have I heard a Jedi moan "I wish I had underworld so I'd learn all the languages - damn those Smugglers! Oh well, I've got FD so who cares"
My favourite though is the chefs who are FURIOUS that we get to make spices "My whole business would skyrocket if we could make spices - damn those Smugglers"
Then there's the Pistoleers "They get Low Blow?? I grinded Master Pistoleer and I don't get Low Blow? Those damn Smugglers!!"
Oh, and can't forget the Weaponsmiths and Amoursmiths "What - I made the freakin' weapons/amour I should be able to slice it better than a Smuggler - I mean - *I*MADE*IT*!!!"
Nailed that one of the head Max

I couldn't get my sig to display properly any more, but the gist of it was, type /Smuggle and you get an error, type /smuggle and you smuggle.

Actually, as I think about this I think I've stumbled on to the real reason our profession hurts so bad. All our skills and mods are designed to make the game mechancics work for us. Which, really, is what the rogue class is all about. slicing, spicing, language comprehension, discounts on faction, buying faction, feigning death, last ditching, lowblowing, all of it is stuff that is meant to give us advantages that other profs don't have. Sure we're not as strong, etc, but we've got all these things that make living in the galaxies universe easier.
The only problem is, the devs listened to the excessively whiney player base instead of 40 some odd years of the history of rpgs, and gave all the other players ways around not having these skills.
Just as an example, my rogue in eq could outdamage any of the tanks at the same level, with my duel wielded daggers (I had some amazing daggers let me tell you), become invisible to most mobs, and I can't remember the rest of the advantage skills, but they were things the other players didn't have.
We talk about getting new places where only our profession can take off/land... we talk about getting a language only our profession and a select few other can comprehend... we talk about special slices for our own gear... we talk about having all the advantage skills/mods we're supposed to have... but will the player base ever let us have them? I doubt it. I mean, look at the contraband system. We have a better chance to not get charged a few credits, but only if we're neutral or rebel does it matter. And it doesn't really matter anyway because anyone and their mother can afford the fine.

I'm not a smuggler, but I have to say you guys got some awsome moves.
The only I see from the outside looking in is that you don't exactly get to smuggle (<-- I spelled it wrong..)anything...
And they could do so much more with that underworld tree than just languages..honestly

I had originally thought that the "hidden" abilities would be revealed in the revamp when they do little more than rename our profession back to what they had originally intended: replacing the "m" with an "n".

Bah! Utterly preposterous! Smuggler is fine as is and I am 100% sure that there would never be any hidden ability!
