I'm currently a Master Smuggler and am working up Pilot as an Imperial Pilot. But with the smuggler revamp upcoming, and current, new quests/missions that have you 'smuggle' or attack things, I'm wondering how highly being an Imperial Pilot will affect being able to do these things, along with being able to do Smuggler missions in the upcoming revamp. Would anyone happen to know anything about this, or if it won't even affect anything at all? Any info would be appreciated. I love the idea of the Decimator being used for smuggling....heh.

I'm not sure how they plan to integrate all this stuff, but I would hope faction wouldn't prevent or limit one's ability to smuggle. That would be an unnecessarily restriction on content which a lot of us have been waiting on for a long time, and so I don't think it's something you'd have to worry about too much.

Hm. Good point, but I'm basing my worries on what I've heard, though my information could be wrong on this, but I have heard there are missions that you can get CURRENTLY, from space stations, that a smuggler and only a smuggler can do, but only if they're Rebel or Freelance pilot, and haven't heard of any that allow for an Imperial pilot to do. Or is my information wrong on this bit?
Thanks so much for responding, though! I'm definitely glad to see the Pilot Correspondant answering this. ![]()

Hmm. I think that's the mission out of the Talus space station, the one with the Selonians, anyway.. I'm an Imperial smuggler myself, so I'll try to give this a go tomorrow and see how it works.
Really though, the only smuggler-only mission we've got at present is this single one that was added as a bit of content with one of the other patches, and there may well be story-based reasons it's restricted to Rebels and privateers, if that's indeed the case. I would surely hope that a publish as large as the smuggler revamp will be would have a lot of thought put into it, and that Imperial smugglers wouldn't be excluded for any reason. After all, it's often much easier to sneak under the radar when you're breaking the law from the inside rather than the outside.
If there were problems in that regard, though, I'll be making some noise about it. Some rather loud and righteous noise.

Well, bah on the story-based reasons. Just because we're Imperial pilots doesn't mean we're cops of the galaxy; as you stated, it's easier to break the law from inside, especially if you're an Imperial Ace pilot and a high-ranking official. I see no reason why Imperial Pilots should be restricted from ANY Smuggler missions if your a smuggler, you should get a sort of conversation option that will allow you to take the mission, i.e. "Yeah, well, regardless of my uniform, I still know the black market better than you do, I'll run this, just stay out of my way," sort of thing. Hell, there were Imperial and Rebel spies infiltrating from the inside most likely and all that, after all! I just hope we won't be restricted. I want my Decimator smuggling ship!

Bump! Any more info on this at all?
Another question would be if I'd be able to land at the Hutt's Palace with this combo...hrm. Sigh, so many wonders and worries.
