Thread: Why Nerf? Instead....

Just becuase some Jeid/BH say that we're gettign nerfed doesn't mean we are getting nerfed. No offical words has been issued so don't worry about it. Oh and if the devs do by chance move those three specials to master smuggler they can just go to hell. Several other proffessions have very very good specials dotted around their trees why shoudl smuggler be the only proffession you do have to master?
The word is that they are going to "fix" concussion shot to work as it is described.
Meaning it will now be a 30 second Mez that will break on damage.
Meaning you will shoot someone with it and they won't be able to heal, attack, run, sh!t- nothing until they take damage again.
My opinion is- this isn't a nerf- it's going to make us a serious threat. Especially if we use it with an AOE weapon.
The down side is- you are going to hear a lot of Jedi screaming about it when it happens- The upside is- they have been one of the main people saying it needs to be fixed to work as described.
I have faith that our other abilities- Feign Death and Last Ditch- will be left alone despite cries to have them nerfed as well.
Moving everything to the Master Box is not an option. Our moves are just fine as they are- in fact in order for us to be the 5 in crowd control we need to have our abilities to work better (even the Devs think so).
Aside: Improved Concussion Shot... Master Box.
You know what I had done when the Jedi cried about LD?
Patch Notes:
- Increased damage output of Last Ditch by 3 times
- Increased Accuracy of Last Ditch by 500
- Last Ditch no longer incaps the user
- Last Ditch can be fired when knocked down
- Last Ditch can be fired when feigned death
- Told Jedi to suck it up and not to act like babys

While I agree with the no nerf policy, its not exactly feasable really to move all these skills to the master box. Novices would pretty much get nothing worthwhile.
Hypotethically...
Smugglers deal with contraband, and should have some dirty tricks to pull if something bad happens.
If Smuggler had their prerequisites changed to 2 lines of non-combat professions, starting with 0040 Artisan (Business). Thentheir accuracy/speed/defenses beefed up to match what they lost, maybe some more to compensate for the now more expensive Pistoleer.
That would solve alot of your dabbling issues.

Yeah and Hypotethically... There still is players who are Doctors in this game lol
I've tried Smuggler pre and post CU.. It went from a mixed bag profession with half decent NON-combat skills spices, slicines, fp buying and some good backup combat skills, to just having fp buying and some fairly good comabt skills now. At least in my view. All you need do is take a look at the xp type Smuggler needs now to know what's on SOE's mind. We are a Combat class peroid.. Who happends to buy fp, make a geneirc buff and can improve some Noob weapons stats... Woot... oh someone said we can smuggle stuff to.. LoL
So Nerfing any of the Combat portions now in my book puts us on the path that doc is on. To "Take this useless profession only if you REALLY want it"

This is how all professions in the game should be constructed. And I personally feel that Doctor is an awesome profession that do exactly what its supposed to do.
Honestly is it? The spice crafting and slicing side point to more support than dedicated combat but its far from useless.
I chose master smuggler as my second master alongside tailor so i could easily get about colecting things and delivering things or visiting customers with no hassle. I can shoot low levels, mez higher levels and run away or feign death if i get in over my head.
The reasons people moan about the moves you have is because people use them in PVP for an advantage, these people who have the moves may not be master but they are smugglers still because they have taken the skills. The whole Jedi Bounty system is guaranteed to find any slight exploit/advantage/overpowered skill long before any normal player due to the people who take part and this goes for both sides.
BH want to win, Jedi want to win. Animosity ensues and who loses out? Not Jedi or BH because they simply move on for the next big thing.
When they finally get the bounty system sorted the problems might stop but people are naturally inventive and will do anything they can to survive or win, the devs cannot predict people using moves in certain ways.
Call for a fix of the whole bounty system not a nerf to any profession. As ive said previously i would not want any chance of my smuggler being hunted at present because i have experienced the bad side of player bounties. There is good there but when dealing with real people you will never attain balance.
