I'm just wondering why I've spent about half an hour looking through the first two pages of the Smuggler Forum and I've read about 3 useful posts, if every post didn't degrade to useless discussions of nothingness we might get taken seriously.

I'm all for a having fun but occasionaly could we keep the stupidity in game, smugglers like a bit of fun but why not keep your drinking and larking aboutin cantinas thus adding to the SWG atmosphere, but could we keep the forums for good ideas and maybe one day we'll get a patch! If I was a dev I wouldn't spend more than 30secs of my time on this forum as I'd realise that these guys aren't worth the time. some constructive comments would be cool.

This is kind of pointless as I know it will be responed to by pathetic and pointless comments about pie etc. (If you reply with what did he say about pie you are thus proving my point)

RPG, means ROLE-PLAY. If you want to just kick ass play UT2004, if you want to race, play NFSunderground2, if you want to run around doing what you want to anyone play GTA Vice City, if you want to moan. Go somewhere else.

from my point of view if we smugglers take away our sense of humour we would have ditched a long time ago.

Constructive post have been posted over and over,and look where we are atm.

I feel that these post and the attitude of the smugglers in the forum has made this 2year wait for a revamp bearable.

thats just my 2cents

I think the main point of the pie comments was to hijack threads started by pro-jedi trolls posting in 'our' forum. It may have gotten a little out of hand.

Also... the FUN of the pies, beer and melons was also that... fun. Um... game? Fun?

Anyway... yes, if we want something to be taken seriously, thread shouldn't be all about how cute someone is or filled with pie-launching macros... but a lot of those threads got to be like that BECAUSE we didn't want them taken seriously.

Granted, there may be people at SOE now that say 'All those smugglers talk about is Tiggs and pies', but I doubt if people like that would take us seriously anyway.

Maybe when Devs and Mods are tired of hearing about how much of a menace the Jedi have become- or howcome this doesn't work- or what BH exploit is going on- or what abilities are gamebreaking and need to be nerfed-

Maybe- just maybe they come here to read about pie and how cute Tiggs is.

And in doing so- maybe they will take the time to read our serious posts as well.

The GLUT of nonsensical post could be attributed to the anxiety we all feel about our revamp happening or not happening. We were told we were next but have heard nothing above board- and this might be a way of dealing with that- Idunno.

The slicing change IS coming and real soon- I'd put my best credits down that this forum will get serious right about then.

Until then- I'm going to enjoy this silliness because it has done us a very good stead in the recent onslaught of our abilities by the Jedi/BH conflict.

and it will get worse if concussion shot becomes what it's supposed to be...

Maybe Hotdog...but most likely not.

Personally I think the glutt of nonsense is simply because there is nothing new to say. Hasn't been for a while and isn't going to be for a while, if ever. *shrugs*

I really love it when a "Here's a new smuggler idea" post pops up. Invariably it's gone around at least once if not a dozen times.

We've said it all about the Smuggler profession at one time or another. Balls in their court and has been for a while. Personally I think they left the court a while back and we've been hoping against hope they return to the game one day.

Seriously what the serious situation is, is we enjoy ourselves in this forum.

Here's a helpful tip:

THE DEVS DO NOT READ THIS FORUM! EVER! UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!

Unless they heard we had pie... then they'd come to take it from us.

Case in point. I do things in this forum that would instantly get me banned in other forums. This forum is Nar Shaddaa. It's the Smuggler's Run. Sure it smells a bit but it's ours.

Here's what happens in other profession forums. They make a post, about some grand important issueone person replies to it a half hour later, and it STAYS in the top 5 posts on the page for two days, despite no oneelse replying to it.

Two exceptions to that rule. BH and Jedi. They spend so much time flaming each other they should probably uninstall galaxies and go back to Quake 3.

To recap: ALL profession forums have a the same amount of whining, with the exception of 3. the Jedi and BH forums have more, and the Smuggler forums have LESS.

This is a lighthearted, non-serious group of people. They wouldn't be smugglers if they weren't.

Any "serious" discussion that's been in the forums the past month has been about how much "Jedi r t3h suck.

The actual serious stuff, Wes has been made aware of. It's like a secret language, Wes knows what is real, what is garbage, and what's just us having a good time.

Hello even Virrago chimed in on the superhero quiz.

Just remember, if we took the smuggler profession seriously we'd all be babbling idiots... oh wait, we are! OH NO!

Serious posts? Constructive appraisals of Smuggler needs, theories and future-state?

I know that if I was a Dev, I would spend most of my time here... to get away from the animosity between professions... Personnally, the smugglers are a fun loving profession, and without our sense of humor and laid back attitude, we would have degraded into nothingness by now.
