OK, am i not doing something right?

I have my resources, I have my weapon&general crafting tool, I have my droid with crafting facility, even tried doing it at a crafting station but when ever i try and make factory schematics for molecular clamps or precision laser knifes it skips the section on creating a schematic and goes straight to step 6 a single unit creation.

Some help would be appreciated...

So you don't get the option to experiment?

Make sure you have a WDG crafting tool (not the generic one) and are standing near the WDG crafting station (droids have problems when called inside).

If you still don't get the option to a) experiment b) create prototype c) make schematic, then /bug it and call for a CSR.

To clarify: start crafting (assembly). When after putting in the resources, and going into the next crafting stage, you should see such a dialog with 3 buttons.

You cannot choose to make a schematic by starting the crafting tool; it will look like you are creating the object but with the steps above you should get a dialog with the options.
