Remove all non-default languages from all players

Add the ability for all players to learn ONE additional language (comprehend and speak)

Add the ability of all protocol droids to translate all conversations within a 15m radius of the owner and droid.

Result, our languages comprehension skill means a little something.

Good idea. This would mean you'd need to makeeach species start without the ability tospeak Basic, but they should be allowed to comprehend it. However, I think the character'slanguages should be set so that they are allowed to Comprehend two non-default languages, and speak one.

Twi-Leks would end uphaving the most languages a non-Smuggler could have(Native Language, Lekku Language, Basic Comprehension, two non-default Comprehensions, and one non-default Spoken) and Human non-Smugglers end up having the least(Basic Speach, two non-defaults comprehensions, and one non-default Spoken).

This would be great. I think, however, that the only way it would be implimented would be if everyone could still use basic. They'd have to maintain that level of communication in the game. No sense in having "massively multiplayer" if no one can talk.

My modification would be: Everyone speak/comprehend basic; speak/comprehend race language; speak/comprehend one additional; comprehend one additional.

btw - what effect would this have on wookies? Aren't they limited on what they can speak anyway?

I agree. I have a friend that's a sullustrian(sp?) and he won't teach anyone else the language as a "sacred oath." We have some pretty funny conversations that nobody else can hear

That would be fantastic. IMO it would create a MUCH more immersive SW feel. However, the devs, citing the need to 'balance fun vs immersion' would prally never do it.

Forme immersion is fun .

I'd love to see this implemented; I don't think there's any need to make everyone be able to speak basic, just comprehend it, especially when the game has email, groupchat, guild chat anda tell system that'd be unaffected by language.

With or without Basic...doesn't matter to me. With basic is probably an easier sell to theDev's and community
