Thread: My faith in the Slicing Gods has been restored, for now.

I've recently been on a bad streak when it comes to weapon slices so when I was standing in the starport in the dath science outpost and a guy sends me a tell asking to slice his 4 weapons worth a total of 15mil I was a little wary.
Needing money I said ok and he handed over three beautiful krayted rifles and a krayted flamethrower.
When I saw what he handed me my first thought was that I was going to get four low speed slices or something else crappy.
I started with the flamer, 25% speed, it was a decent mid-range slice and since flamers are slow speed comes in handy.
Then I started on the rifles, 33% damage, 30% damage, and 31% damage. My head nearly exploded when I saw those numbers.
And, thus, my faith has been restored.

I just got 33% speed and 19% speed slices on 650 max damage PHs. My faith is gone for the momnet.

Be that as it may, I'm still celebrating this lucky streak, they owed it to me after waiting two hours for a vette that never spawned in Kessel and being stuck in an imperial prison cell for an hour before I sliced those guns.(if you couldn't tell I've had a bad week SWG wise)

I've had a mediocre run in the last month - nothing spectacular, nothing crappy. Mostly ranging from 22-28% slices. The Gods are indifferent to me.
Recently though after a run of bad I whipped up a small macro that basically says:
"-=Standard Disclaimer=-"
"Slicing is random, you could get a good slice, you could get a bad slice, it is out of our hands completely. What will affect your slice is if you state out loud what kind of slice you want - if you do this I am not responsible for what the Slicing Gods give you"
"So if you are ok with this and want to roll the dice please initiate the trade"
So now, even if I get a crappy slice I feel no remorse, no guilt as they've been properly warned.

I had 4 out of 7 35% slices once... yes for myself... on heavyacid rifles...

My faith is seriously shaken...
A few days ago, I was reminded why you are NEVER, under ANY circumstances, to slice your OWN gear...
I bought 2 new pistols Sunday...a very nice Krayt Republic Blaster...something like 250-ish max damage...and a Krayt DE-10...like 320-ish max damage.
I sliced the DE-10 first... 17% Speed...
Then...the Republic...27% Speed...
/sigh
Granted, I'm not speed capped, so the speed actually helps me out...matter of fact, I probably would've been overjoyed if the slice would've been a higher percentage on the DE-10...
But, the speed didn't do much for me on the Republic...it was 2.2 to begin with...*shrug*

Ive been on a bad streak for ages also, for a few weeks I had nothing over 20%, yesterday I got a 30% speed and a 34% dmg on my two new vk's, shame they are for grinding heh.
