Can anyone offer ideas on how they grinded through the pistols xp requirements for smuggler? I am hoping to master it before the CU hits.

I am currently a 0/0/0/3 Pistoleer, novice smuggler with slicing 1, master swordsman, with some medic. I plan on dropping the swordsman and medic to pick up the pistoleer and smuggler. Can anyone say what they killed to get the xp? Thanks a lot.

Right now, in the game's crappy state, you just get buffed and grind quenker lairs on Dantooine, spamming body shot 2.

If that sounds boring, just wait for the CU to hit and group with people.

Exactly what I did this weekend to get master smuggler again, (for the ninth time).

I found that /healthshot1 does very good DPS (damage per second) almost double what a regular shot does.

You can go check you weapon DPS and find out what the best special to use for DPS is Here

Also, you don't need to wear composite to go grind quenkers. I just got buffed and wore 45% Chitin armor.

Save me wear and tear on my composite.

You can usually get cheap Chitin armor on the bazaar for really cheap, and you only need the gloves, chest helm and boots, you'll get full protection from just those pieces.

the best way to do any ranged profession is this. Get some 80% kin. comp. armor. Get into a solo group on dant. Take two quenker missions, 5-5.3k payout each. Then make the following macro.

macro title: pointblank

/pointblankarea1;

/macro pointblank;

Then when you get to the mission, target the lair and start your macro. You will have perfect accuracy and will hit all the mobs as they swarm around you. oh yeah and if i were you i'd get a good damage sliced dx2 or republic blaster to grind with.

This is the way to do it - Pointblankarea was made for grinding!

Dantooine is definately the best place I found for this, get missions - or just go out lookingand you will find more than enough Huurton, Quenker and Piket lairs to keep you happy.

Rep Blaster or DX2, although with the DX2 watch your mind as the specials do drain you a bit if you haven't taken Brandy/Ahrisa.

Well, best shot you can use is /healthshot2 as it hasthe highestDPSthatgoes on only one stat. so compared to other shots havíng the same DPS /healthshot2 is in the best case up to 3 times faster. There is actually no faster way in dealing damage for a pistoleer.

As above advice for Quenker grinding, good armor - cpl sets - and a good Damage Sliced DX2, some Brandy . . lalalaa.
Solo grp isn't always necessary, a good Probot droid will pull you the missions and bump ur XP plus you don't have to listen to grpspam.
If quenkers bore you, you can switch to 11k Giant Baz-Nitch missions on Dath. same bag with them in a slightly more dangerous environment.

Happy Grindage

Lots of interesting ideas... Last night a guildy made me a scout blaster that was 1.6 speed 216 max damage sliced, so I put my adk on it and started grinding savage quenkers, bols and voritors, anything that payed about 9k and was less than 1k away from the mission terminal. I was health shot2'ing them, but I'll try the point blank area. The temple on Yavin sounds interesting, I like the idea of getting loot as I grind Now, how long will it take saying "Slicing Locked Containers Free!" before I get enough xp to slice knives...

Start with asking guildies for 'em. That'll maybe get you a few to start with. Then, if you've got the cash, look on the bazaar, galaxy-wide. Buy every slicable container you can, travel around picking them up, and slice 'em. I got through Slicing 2 in just a couple days that way. I had 2 of my own, got 8-10 more from guildies, bought the rest (and had good luck with finding containers within the cintainers).
