Whatthe hell is this?
I did exactly what I've done numerous times before. Use the clamp, cut the wire it tells you to, cut the remaining wire.
So why, when slicing a Blade of Nyenthi'oris, did I get the message:
"You've made a critical mistake modifying the weapon's basic systems. The damage is extensive and while the weapon still retains its previous effectiveness, no one will be able to modifiy it in the future."

Wow thats first I've heard, did they stealth nerf slicing loot drop weapons?
Where is Wes these days? We need him on this.

This could give me a bad time with the guy I was slicing it for. He's my guild leader, and this was one of his best weapons. He wanted it sliced.
Over the past few days I've had several messages saying I was doing minus slices! What the hell??????

hm, really weird. maybe there is a kind of additional quest where ya can get a better verion, a "sliced" version, but only if ya didn t slice it already...

Once again, slicing is borked and you probably shouldn't slice anything that matters much. Once again, it is important to check the polarity, not the color, of the wire when slicing. We've all been over this stuff quite a few times since CU.
EDIT: I'll add that I know that message well from my pre-clamp days. Looks like a failed slice to me.
