Thread: Master Smuggler/Master BH. Good combo?

I have thought about this combination for quite some time. I have been a BH for 5 months or so, but have always been looking at Smuggler as an option but I don't want to stop hunting Jedi. How good is Smuggler without Master Pistols now? I know some of you are BH/Smugglers, what is your template and how much do you like it? And is Smuggler useful being neutral? I am imp at the moment but have be thinking of going neutral for a while now. thanks in advance for your feed back, anything would be helpful.

If you are thinking of a purely combat template then smuggler is not the answer.

most of your good accuracy/speed mods come from going into pistols or rifles or carbines. smuggler, bh, and squad leader get you the commands and more utility, and commando gives you the real nasty big guns (although i dont know if the balance is there to put commando weps highest on the dps charts)

I'm a Master Smuggler/Master BH. I think it's a damn good combo.

such different opinions, thanks for the replies, anyone else? I am not thinking just to pwn, I like some of the other things smuggler offers, and for the future of the profession.

Taking up master smuggler to compliment BH is not the way to go I think, dabble yes and then dabble in pistoleer too.
I am a Master Smuggler, Master BH but I did the opposite, took up BH to compliment smuggler. Might not be the best templet skill wise but content wise it's nice. Again dabbling might have been better, some BH and some pistoleer.

what about being neutral? no faction to sell (or can you?)so what else is good in that aspect?

I didn't take the template to pwn, actually, as I rarely PVP. I've only tried PVP once, and as I was a master dancer with little pistoleer then, it obviously didn't go very well! Rofl. But I love it in PvE. I can solo very, very well, as long as they're non pack-aggro for the most part if I'm doing missions. The crowd-control and the hard-hitting weapons are pretty nice. If I'm careful, I can take on a solo red con and win, though it's not easy at all.
As for selling faction, you can't as neutral, as you need to be Elite Forces in order to delegate faction points. But the specials are worht it. Especially Last Ditch, if you're against a solo target and end up in deep crap, considering Feign Death tends to fail a good deal of the time. The weapons you get as a BH are pretty cool-looking, not uber with the damage, but good enough. Personally, I like the combo, and from an RP standpoint personally, it's an interesting combo too.

Agreed.
Although not quite the damage dealer MBH/MC is or Jedi Killer MBH/Rifleman - MBH /Carbineer is; it allows alot for content. I have had it for sometime and have no intention of dropping either MS or MBH. I used the rest of my points in Commando for General Ranged Accuracy and speed.
BTW - Took out a full template Knight with this template using a Smuggler's luck and a certain special
