I've been thinking about this possibility for awhile now, but this morning I saw an ICONS program on G4 tv that got me wondering again. A Lucas Art executive was talking about how "Everyone wants to be a Jedi and wave a lightsaber around." We already know Lucas doesn't always care about what the viewing public thinks, he wants to make his movies his way. Also in my (not at all humble) opinion The EQ and EQ2 divisions at SOE have done a far better job of listening to the players. Not perfect by any means. But much better than SWG.
Could it be that the devs actually DO want to do stuff different from the way they are doing it? Is it possible that the Lucas Arts people are the ones who are pushing the "nerf everyone and make the Jedi all powerful" syndrome that we have all been complaining about for so long? Could it be that they really think that everyone DOES want to be a Jedi, or really don't care one way or the other? Granted, they have screwed up the mechanics of the game like crazy, but I just wanted to toss this out for a flame fest.
PS: The newest version of the "24/7" SWG commercial I saw on G4 this morning had the "meet Yoda" reference pulled.
