Thread: Concussion/Panic shot in PvP

When PvP'ing in big groups, I use these shots a lot as they're very handy. The problem is, a lot of the people in my group will attack enemies that I have mezmerized with concussion/panic shot, which then basically negates my purpose.

No matter how many times I tell people to look for the little green spiral or the crazy purple face under people's HAM bars, there are always people who don't listen, forget, get confused etc...

So I guess the gist of this post is me begging for another way for players to be able to tell if a person is mezmerized without having to take time out of hectic PvP to squint at someones states. The red circles are great, but it should be a different animation than stopping shot, and you can't really tell at all if someone is mez'd with panic shot.

Ideas?

Only idea I have for you is to group with people who can understand simple instructions. Don't mean to sound rude, but if I'm a group leader, and we have an idiot in the group, I give him one chance to stop being an idiot before I kick him. I'm leading the group to try to get something done, not to aggro every MOb in the game simultaniously.

Hmm. You could make a macro that's like this:

/concussionshot;

/pause 1;

/panicshot;

/m mezzage

This'd continually cycle the shots and make it so that the enemy would continually be mezzed. You won't get any direct kills though and you won't be able to heal yourself with that on.

My brother just used his token respec to pick up SL. He's kinda pissed at me cause his stats suck now, but I tried to explain to him that it'll help keep the group focused. He's also a CM, so his role is primarily support. He can't stick DoTs on all the targets now, but he can go around to all the mezzed dudes hitting them with debuffs and not worry about getting slapped around himself. Once he does that he can stick DoTs on one target at a time and we go to town on it. I continue to mez those that get loose and then get back to the target. Rinse/repeat.

His SL abilities gives the group offensive and defensive bonuses.. especially Volley Fire. With only one target to focus on at a time, thanks to the rest being mezzed, Volley Fire becomes more effective. EVERYONE in the group can see the flashing cross-hairs and you get accuracy bonuses when attacking that target. The one painted will also get a defensive penalty. Having a SL to help focus fire is great for a Smuggler. They complement each other well.

SL: "Concentrate fire on this target!" *hits Volley Fire on a guy*

Smug: "I'll neutralize the others!" *mezzes the enemy group*

One by one the group goes through eliminating the enemy force. With a CM in the group, it's even better. Mez the target for the CM so that he can safely approach and debuff before you engage it.

Just make sure to have some damage dealers in the group. SL/CM and Smugglers would take forever, lol.

I'm also finding that the large percentage of enemies in PvP that I mez are broken quite quickly by other players on my side

I have a super fast Acid Stream Launcher though to remez them

Yeah I'm really thinking about dropping the few Pistoleer skills I have for some Commando so I can mez groups. I've been hearing good things about the Commando/Smuggler combo. I might give it a go.
