Thread: What is Considered Griefing after using Feign Death?

As the title says I am under the impression that this is a grey area for many players. Feign Death is one of those skills that can certainly save a player's butt in PVE, but in PVP it becomes a source of grief for both sides. When a player uses FD in PVP he can still take damage to his Stats in the form of wounds and battle fatigue, and if armor is equipped it can be completely destroyed. Somewould argue that intentionally destroying a person's armor is bad form and considered poor sportsmanship, and giving someone such massive amounts of wounds is pretty harsh.Others argue that using Feign Death in PVP is something that allows them to inentionally cause excessive amounts of wound and armor damage unless the target decides to stand up andtake a /deathblow.

If the DOT lands before FD is used then no harm no foul. But applying such tactics afterwards not right IMHO.

Either way this skill needs some attention. Perhaps in the revamp...

Any thoughts?

Yes I don't really have a problem with wounds per se. But one cannot assume that everyone is wanting to spend the skill necessary to combat other players deliberately causeing 1000 Battle Fatigue and Wounds to the point of almost no return. We are talking about MAX wounds to ALL Primary, Secondary and Tertiary stats. Because of the recent change where there is a delay when taking off your armor you cannot remove armor to avoid armor destruction.

Any other thoughts.

Armor removal delay is fairly easy to work arround: Equip pants, boots, gloves, a jacket, and head gear (CE goggles, Geo rebreather, headwrap, chef's hat, etc) and the armor is instantly whisked away.

I dont PvP much, but I'll be damned if someone is going to destroy my armor, I love to Feign against NPC's, not against players who seem to be able to sit there all day and use you like a punching bag.

So basically, FD is a POINTLESS skill for PvP....

No, no it isnt! Not with the new Jedi PvP rank system. You can deny a Jedi your "points" after a battle, and if you have TKM as well as Smuggler, those would have been hard-earned points, particullarly for new Jedi. I have suspicions that the Jedi PvP ranking model will be applied to GCW as well, but its just a hunch. If it does go that way, FD will have even more global use.

The big trouble at this point is, Jedi mixing it with Smuggler DF 1 will likely get us all nerfed. Since all changes of late have been for the benifit of(or at least because of) the Jedi, I expect a code change for FD to completely remove its usefullness in PvP. But then, I'm a born-again pessimist when it comes to my profession.
