Slicing 4 will get you decent slices, but not the max smuggler slices, which are 35 for weapons and 45/40 on armor

In my personal opinion, the only thing slicing is good for below master is terminals and containers. Weapons and armor aren't worth slicing because you can't get those high-end slices. While they are rare, I would much rather have the chance than know I'll never ever get one.

NO.

At this time there are 2 maybe 3 reasons to have Smuggler skills at all.

1 is Feign Death. Has saved my butt when I was a BE sampling Rancors and saved my but in the geo caves. Feign Death works at any level, just gets easier and takes less HAM with higher levels. This just means you may have to use it earlier with lwer FD skills.

2 in Slicing. The only reason to have slicing and not be Master Smuggler is to open containers and slice terminals for more money. If you are going to Slice weapons/Armor, you have to have Master. You may not alway sget a 35% or 45%(armor) slice, but it really helps your curve if it is possible.

3 might be the KD shot with pistols. I just love the thought of shooting my foe in the nutts.

Everyone seems to concentrate on the max % you can get with Master but it also affects the min % by the same amount. IOW at slicing 4 you can get lower slice % than you can at Master.

If you are looking to get good slices, Master is the place to be.

If you are doing it for the fun ... sure, why not. However, you will not get the best results (5% lower).

Your better option is to make friends with a good Smuggler and work together as a team. Be fair to the smuggler, and you will have a good business partner.

if you are doing it for your own stuff and you don't care if you get a little lower result sure but if you're trying to make money most people want a master smuggler ot slice their stuff. not all but most.
