I was wondering, how many locked containers will I need to complete the slicing line? or should I use something else like knives ?

Each container gives 250XP. Make sure you use Molecular Clamps, that way you dont fail in opening them. (Unless you are extremly clumsy!)
Box 1 - Terminals, is 5000 Slicing XPmaking itit 20 containers.
If you wanna do containers until Box II, its a total of 60 containers. (Slicing misson terminals gives 100 Slicing XP)
Not to hard to come by, ask around on your server..

Alot of nice people there.Myself, I havent trained the second box yet, but I hear survivalknife slicing is the way to go from there.

Don't let the jerks rip you off. Focus on multiple things at once because it will make it go quicker and more enjoyable.
Once you get to Slice I, you can slice terminals (for 100xp each) as you progress up and work on Pistol xp. Slicing a base gives you the most xp, but I would recommend against it until you are fully comfortable with slicing under pressure (and lag).
Terminals: 100xp
Weapons, Armor, Locked Containers: 250xp
Base Terminal: 1,000 xp (Need bounty hunter to do step 1 prior to you).

Slicing 1 sucks. Thank goodness I have friends who gave me their Locked Cans.

Alternated between Containers and Terminals till I reached Slicing 2. Last 2k xp I needed were from containers because I was just too bored. After that is slicing Survival Knives for teh win. Used FANs for them, cuz clamps were much more expensive and I had plenty grind copper with me.

I got my slicing boxes by slicing terminals while I ground out the spices tree. I didn't use clamps because I was poor back then, but I got almost all the way through the slicing tree before I was done the spices tree, and the rest was pretty simple to take care of after that.
