Thread: Pick-your-slice Loot

With all the single-use schematics and such that are dropping, how about we get a schematic, even a 1-use, for something like an Uber-Clamp that lets us pick the attribute to slice. That way, most slicing would be random, but for that legendary weapon, we can give the customer the option for a guaranteed slice... at a price, of course.

The drop rate can control the rarity of these, so they wont be everywhere (if that's a bad idea... )

I think most of us would prefer just to be able to pick our slice at Master Smuggler...at least I would. I think most of us are rather EXPECTING to be able to with the Smuggler Revamp. I sure hope I'm not mistaken in that expectation...

Now that might be a good idea for less than Master Smuggler though. *shrugs*

Oh I absolutely agree... this would be a simple-to-code "bone" to throw us in the meantime....

Problem with such 'bones' is that once they've done that they tend to think they're 'done' and the real thing gets pushed back to the end of eternity.

I know from decades in engineering that once a 'bug' or 'deficiency' is 'temporarily' patched the final fix seems to get delayed and delayed and...well you get the picture.

Yep. Now if you wanted to talk about a single use schematic that allows you to "unslice" an item, I'm all ears. That's more of a bone that wouldn't keep us from pushing for a Master benefit and I could see the rest of the player base getting behind it. Eventually they would become meaningless if they decide to fix some of the lame randomness in the system.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

I personally think a guaranteed pick-your-slice is awsome but shouldn't be implemented w/o some sort of cap like say 25-30% only on that stat so it doesn't get to overused.

almost more preferable would be a few time use schem guaranteeing over 30% giving a 50/50 hance it'd be an awesome result or you
