The extra Speed is nice for Pistols, if you do all of your hunting buffed you wont miss the medic, but for getting around to your harvesters unbuffed you may want to keep medic.

So i should go up x/x/x/4 on pistoleer or should i maybe spread out a lil and go x/x/x/2 and maybe go up another branch of pistoleer one box or would going up the speed area be the most beneficial?

With so little defenses, I would say novice medic. I have to do that with my Master Smuggler/Master Weaponsmith/Novice Pistoleer... but not for long since I'm dropping weaponsmith and going triple threat.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

with only 17 points left i don't think you can go 0/0/0/4 in pistoleer

it's been a while for me, but i believe each tree is a total of 14 skill points and novice of an elite profession is 6.

Personally, I would get the speed over any of the other Pistoleer Branches. I'ma Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler, the attacks I use most are HS1 & 2, Lastditch and Lowblow. It is pretty rare I use anything else, except maybe Fanshot when I'm dealing with a large Mob. But once again I only fight like that when fully buffed, however I can pop a Brandy, and a Pixie and do a pretty good job of fighting low level animal mobs when needed. The biggest problem with getting the speed, is the specials can kill you, but if you're firing faster, you also don't always need them. And if things get to dicey you can always feign.

Oh yeah also with 17 points I belive you can go three boxes up the speed tree and stil get one of the low level boxes, I'd personally go after the Tactics box for the +15 dodge. But here is the thing Combat XP can be harder to come by and you may be able to try all of the combos before getting enough to fill all four Special AbilitiesBoxes.
