Thread: Perfect Suggestions!
Just some serious suggestions for Smuggler and other professions... my humble opinions
Smuggler
[ /Scan ] Could be used by Imperial playersto detect contraband items on players. If illegal items are found, the player receives a TEF so that all Imperials may attack her. A player may not be scanned more than once in an hour, and if nothing is found on a player, the Imperial who scanned her may not scan again for 2 minutes. Smugglers could receive a bonus to be able to pass the scan with 90% accuracy. If a player is found guilty of possession and is Death Blown, the player is fined [X-Ammount] which goes into the pocket of the Imperial player who made the scan, as a commission for doing his job. May be given to Imperials of certain rank.
Also, something similar should be made for JTL, so that Scans can be performed by players in space, and by NPCs at Imperial controlled Space stations.
Politician
Politicians should be able to buy and manage Space Stations. Sounds like a really big deal, as it should. Space Stations could follow the same basis as Player Cities: Only so many allowed per sector. Should have to be Master Politician to own and operate, and certain "Services" should be available for purchase and placement. Examples of "Services" could be Vendors, Repairs, Landing, Ship-Switching, Banking and storage. Of course a Space Station would costs millions of credits to build and buy, but that's only logical. It would kinda take that empty feeling out of space, as well. and hey, there's always room for more GCW content, right?
Faction Vehicles vs Faction Pets
It's great having an AT-ST to follow you around, but being able to get in one would be better. If we can climb into a speeder or a ship, why not an AT-ST? I think about 99% of the community will agree with this. The idea of actually piloting an AT-ST is one of the coolest things I have ever thought of, and would push more people to work toward getting one. Instead of programming your lifeless, empty, magically-living AT-ST with orders, you could program it's "Controls", such as /FireMissile, /FireLaser, etc. And it would add to guild usage. We have Squadrons now, because the JTL Expansion. We could have Mobile Armor Divisions.
Rebels don't get AT-STs. But in the EU and the Saga, they did have vehicles. They should get a pilotable vehicle as well, such as the Air Speeder, but designed for close-to-the-ground combat. Or some kind of tank. I'm sure the SW Databank could give a few examples.
"Civilian" players should not be left out of the GCW, but a lot of players don't want to be Imperial or Rebel. I think the idea of introducing GCW Neutral Factions could be appealing to them. For example, there could be an actual CorSec Faction one could join, to battle the evil Hutt Faction. To make it detailed, becoming a smuggler could prevent you from joining CorSec, or get you booted from it. Joining the RSF or CorSec Squadrons could get you booted or prevent you from joining the Hutt Crime syndicate. So many violations for either side may result in a 'dishonorable discharge'. This extends the idea of professions, in a way that would make the Galaxy a lot more interactive.
Players who join a faction should have the option of "Factionizing" their equipment to fit the theme of their faction. For example, Imperials should be able to speak to an Imperial recruiter and buy a special Paint job for their speeders that would match Imperial colors, and perhaps display a faction insignia. Clothing, Backpacks, and Houses should also apply. Same goes for Rebels, Hutt, RSF, CorSec, any other faction that should be added.
Since the Rebel Alliance specializes in guerilla warfare, due to being vastly outnumbered, Rebel players should get an attack and damage bonus when fighting in the vicinity of 3 or more opponents, as long as there are less than 2 rebels within the same vicinity. Maybe a 30m range.
Imperial and Rebels aren't the only persons who should be able to requisition personell. Neutral players should be able to recruit 'Mercenaries' to aid them while travelling harsh environments. If we could get the two-seated speeders fixed to carry a passenger, we wouldn't have to worry about leaving them behind, either. Smugglers might want sidekicks. Doctors and Engineers might want Assistants to boost their crafting or experimentation. Medics might want Staff to help heal the wounded. A good Bounty Hunter always has a contingency plan. And if CorSec/Hutt factions are implemented, CorSec could have issued Partners, and Hutt could have Partners in Crime. The possiblilities are endless. Oh, and band members for Musicians! Share summa that Faction Pet love!
Entertainment content
We have Radio items. Make em work! We should be able to craft a "Music HoloDisk" on which Master Musicians can record a song played solo, or by a group. Limit 5 tracks, or 1 track with 5 instruments, or 1 track with 2 instruments, and 1 track with 3, etc, etc. Players could then place the disk inside the "Storage" of a Radio item, which could be turned on to continuously play the contents of the track until it is turned off, or until the Disk expires. Limit6 total hours of play per disk. This would give Entertainers something to craft, and a way to make a little more money. Rebels could get a Rebel-restricted song to play, which they could record on a disk as well. That could be counted as contraband!
Musicians should be able to create their own music. By being able to write the music themselves, at Master Musician, the idea of the profession becomes more in depth, more interesting, and more rewarding. Any Master Musician can play a song that only requires pressing a button. Being able to compose and play, and maybe teach your own songs add to the chance of becoming a popular musician, and gives a little fame to the Musician business. Players might actually make use of the theaters we have, maybe some bands will go on the road, so to speak. Live concerts, one of a kind bands with one of a kind songs. I smell a musician revamp! Blah Blah Blah, you ready to rock DC! Credit goes out to Dark city, Corellia on the Scylla server for inspiration, after I /tumbletoprone'd off a building deck, looking much like a stage dive. A must have in every galaxy.
Speeder stereos. Now THAT is livin large. Music HoloDisk idea applied here!
Sometimes we wanna give an unknown salute, but not the message. Sometimes we wanna walk around all big n' bad, but not neccessarily strut. and sometimes we're not scratching that, we're just scratching. Sometimes, we want those pesky messages removed from the Social emotes...
One word: Pavement. While NPC cites are dignified with cobblestone streets, pavement, etc, player cities suffer with nasty lookin ground plans. We want cobblestone too! Maybe we can purchase "Segments" of cobblestone, pavement, blacktop, or something!
We have HoloNet Terminals and Databanks. We can get missions to kill HoloNet Hackers. But we got no HoloNet. HoloNet terminals should be functional. Maybe a player or guild could have their own "HoloNet Page", containing guild info, player services, Private auctions, recruiting, etc. non-player HoloNet pages could exist as well, such as Rebel Propaganda, or Imperial Information. Maybe slicing an NPC holopage could be a mission for a Slicer/Smuggler. Waypoints, articles, other things could be 'downloaded' from the 'HoloNet' onto disks, into portable HoloNet Terminals, or the DataPad. A good alternative to spamming, as well.
We ever gonna get Trees and Bushes, maybe Flowers to plant within 15 meters of our house? We should. A picnic table, too. And we need Sabacc, gotta have Sabacc.
Please, Please, PLEASE give us fasionable clothing! color isn't everything - we need designs! Leopard print coats, Numbered jerseys, a shirt with the Naboo banner logo on it! FEED ME!
Would be pretty cool to have Credit Cards... used to tip players or spend money if it's all in the bank, lol
Okay, this post is mainly aimed between the Devs eyes, but since the community is mostly effected, please give feedback! I hope you all will agree with these items, and I hope they atleast make it to Concept. If you reply, please indicate which items you agree with or disagree with, for easy sorting. NOT A FLAME BOARD! DO NOT FLAME! Simply agree, disagree, and/or submit feedback. Thank you for your cooperation, blah blah blah, rock on.

It'll never happen, and here's why:
1. Forced PvP. The Devs are getting rid of TEF's for the GCW for the pure sake of appeasing the players that do not like PvP in any way shape or form. Giving players the ability to walk around and attempt to force other players into PvP would never fly. While you did try to avoid a griefing situation with the 1 hour timer, players could still just form a big gank squad to walk around round repeatedly scaning players just to be asshats. That's not going to add to immersion, it's just going to make people mad.
2. Taking money from players. While players don't consider getting fined by the game (and thusly having their credits exit the system), they would very much hate getting fined and having that money go to the player that just killed them (probably against their desire to never PvP). This would turn Imperials into just thugs who walk around trying to find a reason to kill people and take their money. The Empire was oppressive, but they weren't petty thieves that kill people just to make a few credits.

Why did this get a one-star?
I agree 100% with this.
The TEF system: if you don't want to PvP, don't join a faction so there's no possibility of being turned overt by scans. If you really must be in a faction, don't attack Stormtroopers/rebel soldiers.
This proposed system: if you don't want to PvP, don't carry contraband. It's illegal.
As simple as that.
1. Forced PvP. The Devs are getting rid of TEF's for the GCW for the pure sake of appeasing the players that do not like PvP in any way shape or form.
