Thread: Question about Last Ditch and Commando (not nerf related)

I was reading this other thread about LD and one poster made a side comment about LD'ing a group with commando area attack weapons like the flamethrower or lightning cannon...anyone ever do this?

I did in PvE
One target got hit for around 2k of damage (Not enough to kill it sadly) the other target got hit (and I do mean it counted as a hit) for zero pts of damage. Neither target got the Dot...and I got to go sun bathing while I waited for the incap timer to wind down.

When AoE DID work I hit this gang of Gungans with LD using my LBC.
My main target took 7200+ points of damage his buddies took between 600 and 800 if I remember correctly.
I personally lay incapped from the experience.
However AoE doesn't work at the moment so using LD with a Commando weapon is only going to make a lot of creatures angry and if you aren't incapped already- you will be.
When AoE kicks back in, it'll be great! but I wouldn't count on doing 4000k plus damage on 5 people at one time. There is some kind of multiplier in there.

The way I understand it, and I could be waaaaay off on this, is that commando weapons don't do regulat damage to the area. Instead they do their elemental damage to the area. Since elemental damage is currently borked, commando weapons doing area damage is currently borked. I also am under the impression, again could be way off, is that elemental damage is never considered by specials.
