Thread: Which Temp? Smug/ BH, Pistols/Smug, Rifles/Smug

I am currently Master BH/ Master Pistoleer. I am thinking of using my final respec to pick up smuggler. I really Love my current template, but I do not use BH for what BH's do. Right now it is for the defense and offense. I am leaning towards Pistols/Smug, but I just had a few questions. What kinda armor is a Smuggler cert'ed for? Does Smuggler compliment pistols best or any ranged profession? Sorry, I know that these questions could be answered best by just reading the skill tree, but I am currently away from the game and can't look for myself. Thanks in advance for your help.

smuggler is certed recon... many people say smuggler/pistoleer have redundant specials. I myself was a smuggler/commando for a very long time....I am now a smuggler/shipwright and pistols4000...I like the pistol specials they are good debuffs. I have been a carbineer post-cu and it is lots of fun good damage and would prob compliment smuggler well. I just love to craft ship stuff


I enjoy my template as the ultimate space smuggler/tinkerer(han solo trilogyesque character)

If it was me and I was doing it, I'd say MS/MR and Pistols x4x4, or MS/MR,Novice CM.


If you really want to tear some stuff up you could do MS, Carbineer 441x, Rifleman 4xx4, Pistoleer xxx1 and use a rifle as your prime weapon.


That's all Smuggler debuffs, Last Ditch, Imp Crippling Shot, Imp Full Auto Area, Imp Leg Shot, Imp Head Shot, Imp Sniper Shot, Charge Shot(KD), Stopping shot, and Advanced Aim for a massive accuracy boost when needed.

For Group PvP I have seriously been considering rolling aMS Commando 3444, with Carbineer 441x.

I am a Smuggler since beginning and had several combat profs with it since then....but now after CU I ended up with this Combo: Master Smuggler/Master Rifleman/Master Marksman and some Skills from Carbineer just for RPG Reasons (Battle Armor Cert)


This works nice for me, especially the Last Ditch with my T21 is a very nice Attack

Would have to switch your equipped weapon between pistol, carbine, and rifle to make use of all those abilities?

Pre CU I was Master Smuggler/Master Pistols/Medic


Post CU I went Master Smuggler/Master BH/0-0-0-3 Pistols/Rest mixed into marksman


I have found this to be the most fun for me for several reasons. Master Bounty Hunter has really nice specials and hacking BH terminals to get that little extra cash is always fun. Smuggler because that's why I started playing SWG, pistols because of improved stopping shot, and the marksman skills so I can more effectively choose which weapons I use for various situations. While I have the ability to use any weapon like a bounty hunter would, they aren't as specialized as a bounty hunter would be. A smuggler needs to be versitile enough to get out of situations not lethal killers. That's how I base it at least.

We couldn't play SWG without Tiggs. Now we can =)
