Thread: Test Center update stomach emptying

"Misc

* Fixed problem that can cause the stomach not to empty.
* Reduce the stomach empty time for a full stomach to 30 minutes.
"

Alright, I must admit that I could be jumping to conclusions and might be horribly wrong since I didn't make any calculations regarding the amount of 'buff' food you can eat now... but it sort-of seems to me at the first glance that this just makes spices even more useless (compared to food) than they are now? Any thoughts?

I don't think this necessaily changes anything - as long as spices can be snorted on top of food and drink, they'll always have a place as emergency buffs.

Of course the obvious thing to do would be to kill spices as is, and replace them with the lootable skill mod injector thingies that were introduced a while back. But I guess the dev mission is to destroy each tree box bu box before rebuilding them. All we need to do is give merchants fp sales and the CU can sweep aside our pistol specials and slicing altogether.

I can't wait!

These changes are simply amazing. Outside of Smuggler issues, they seem to be wanting to make things much easier and less time-consuming. This can be a good thing, but I wonder at the timing of changes like reducing the time to buff, stomachs emptying quicker, etc when these things all will most likely be handled in the CURB.

Wouldn't Dev time be better spent making changes to things that will not be so affected by the CURB instead of what seems to me to be duplication of effort?

Unless, these things are going to be in the CURB anyway, and they are putting them in, making the game somewhat easier now, then when the CURB hits, these changes making things easy will balance with the changes that will make things more difficult, therefore bringing the game difficulty back in balance.

All speculation, no one can tell what lies in the murky depths of the Devs' minds...

Those should have been new spices, and more powerful. Sorry, opportunity to give smugglers something and its instead a loot drop. Might as well make muon and pixie a loot drop, too. After all, they do have "jar of spice" objects dropping. Maybe this is just a placeholder for now...

It doesn't make spice less valuable, but much like the chef revamp, it makes food more valuable and increases the amount that chefs will sell.

Although it's not a direct slight to us, it's more of a rubbing salt in the wound action. Kind of like we're going to take something away from you before the CURB, but we're going to make you still wait until the CURB to fix spices while making chef food that much better now.

Sorry, I'm not going to look at this in a good light, because even though it will benefit me in combat, it's still a slight to me as a Smuggler with a useless spice tree.

On a side note, it stands to reason that now people will be using more food. Supply and demand dictates that price will go up as demand does. This means that the prices you pay for food may very well go up as chef vendors empty out faster and chefs figure out they can charge more.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

LOL, good one.

I dont think that the lower digestion rates will have anything to do with spice sales. Spices are used because they stack on food.

I have no reason at all to take issue with this fix. Because its just that - a fix. Since the early docs for the chef revamp it was stated to be 30mins to clear but in game was closer to 45mins and its been one of their top issues since. It does cheange the game a bit, but only because we are used to how 42-45mins plays out.

If they wanna do changes like this where it only takes a short amount of time to look into and set something "right" then I more then welcome it. Maybe, just maybe one day they'll get to the point in the list where that little fix is adding info in the master box or removing spice experimenation from slice tools.

Certainly you know those issues are on a seperate list that has a permanent residence in the circular file.
