What is the weapon I can slice when I get to Slicing 2? Someone said something about Survival knife, but I don't know. And what is a weapon upgrade kit?

First:

Stickys are your friend.

Second:

You can slice any weapon. Survival Knifes are just the cheapest to produce. WUKs you need to upgrade the weapon. Ask your local Weaponsmith.

And you need a WUK to slice any weapon. So the complete list of supplies is: a weapon, a WUK, a precision laser knife, and if you want to slice the weapon with 100% success, a molecular clamp.

More detail can be found in the stickies.

A Weapon Upgrade Kit (WUK) is an item you need to slice a weapon. They're made by Weaponsmiths, and need 20 units of metal and 10 chemical, iirc. The counterpart of the WUK is the AUK - Armour Upgrade Kit, made by Armoursmiths.

Slicing Survival Knives are good for a grind because you can often find them in crates (made for this purpose) because they use so little resources. Weapon Upgrade Kits (WUKs) are made by Novice Weaponsmiths and can usually be found in crates as well. Armor Upgrade Kits (AUKs), which you will need eventually, are made by Novice Armorsmiths and can usually be bought by the crate also.

If you're looking to use this method, your best bet is to find a Novice Weaponsmith to buy some WUKs and knives off of. If you have artisan, than you can get a factory and make all the PLKs and knives for yourself.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Four straight answers in a row?? Have we all been driven to the Xanax or something?

Personally, I got a factory and traded a weapon-smith a few slices for a schematic. If you've got the materials, this is certainly the way to go about it.

(yes, you can use the factory to make the rest of your slicing tools as well)

If you're canny about it, you can get the 1000 run schem for nothing off Novice Smiths. Flick the Novice Smuggler up, make out you dont know what you're doing and make vague promises about helping each other out when you both get Master.

Once you establish yourself as a decent Smuggler, you get to know theSmiths so well they give you kits for free and you forget to charge them for slicing anything that isnt a crate of 25 items
