hey guys,

I've never been a smuggler so I'm curious: what exactly does the Sell-out skill do? And how does it work? conversion rate?

Underworld IV allows you to buy faction from a recruiter, to use as you wish, either for buying perks andpromotions or for delegating to other players usign the /del command.

You'll find the conversion factors in the relevant sticky, or go through the forum FAQ

That's correct...

Sell Out however enables you to... well, the FAQ says it best:

At Underworld III you get Sell Out which lets you sell your faction points, 25FP=210-300c on average, but sometimes they pay you nothing. To use this skill go to the opposite recruiter of the faction you would like to sell, and select, "I have some valuable information for you" dialog.

I am not 100% sure about this but when I went around checking the recruiters on all planets on my server (infinity) to see who was in the lead I did not see the sellout option anymore. Maybe I didn't look hard enough be it seems they might have removed it (don't think anyone ever used it anyway).

Note that I only checked as Combatant but I could buy FP without any problem.

Edit: Ops sorry only checked with my own recrutiters not the ones from the other faction, the option is most likely still there.

I know they reworded the buying FP conversation.Now it's'"I would like tohelp you out with your bank account" or something

No, you can't purchase FP using sellout; purchasing FP is an ability gained in Underworld IV Conncetions.
